1. Can Prana Pratishtha be done before the temple is completely built?
A misconception is doing rounds about prana pratishtha of Shri Rama Temple at Ayodhya. It is said that prana pratishtha can’t be done before temple is complete. That's not true.
#RamMandirPranPratishta
2. Firstly, the core essence of temple building that one gets from studying any Agama is that the temple is built around the deity, not the other way around. The kṣetra radiates from the brahmasthana which is decided upon the vastupurusha sthapana.
3. Secondly, as the great temple expert, iconographist and Puranic scholar @artist_rama said, prana pratishtha can be done anytime after the garbha-griha is ready. Completion of the entire superstructure is not necessary.
4. No Agama prohibits prana pratishtha before the entire temple is complete. There are many examples where temples were consecrated before the entire temple was complete. As @tskrishnan gave examples of Shri Padmanabha, Shri Ranganatha and Shri Brihadeeswar temples.
@tskrishnan 5. In fact, it is easier, as @artist_rama says, to palce the kalasha above if the vigraha is already there. And this has happened a lot of times. There are many more examples.
@tskrishnan @artist_rama 6. Matangeshvara temple, Khajuraho, is a testimony since the Śiva Lingam is much bigger than temple gates and thus for sure, it was the vigraha which was consecrated first and then the temple was built around it. It couldn’t have passed the gates after the temple was built.
@tskrishnan @artist_rama 7. Bhaskaresvhara temple in Bhubaneswar is a two storeyed temple with an unusual pidha deula śikhara (usually reserved for mandapas). The Śiva Linga inside is two storey big and the only way that happened is to consecrate the vigraha first and then build the temple around it.
@tskrishnan @artist_rama 8. Shri Ulgalanda Perumala temple dedicated to the Trivikrama svaroopa of the deity also houses a vigraha which is much bigger than the temple gate. As a lot of Dravida temples have stone walls and brick superstructure, this could have been the sequence as follows:
@tskrishnan @artist_rama 9. First they partially built the garbha-griha walls except one and then created and consecrated the vigraha first. And after that built the super structure and the remaining wall.
@tskrishnan @artist_rama 10. Rock cut temples are also a testimony to that. Most of the rock cut temples are excavated top down. In that case that part of the temple is built first which is higher, so jagati and adhisthana of the temple emerge later, far after the vigraha emerges and is consecrated.
@tskrishnan @artist_rama 11. Many more temples built by the Hoysalas and Chalukyas, which are still living and always were, have parts of their śikhara incomplete. None of that stopped the devotees to consecrate the vigraha in the garbha-griha and start worshipping.
@tskrishnan @artist_rama 12. So it is entirely possible to do prana pratishtha before completing the temple first. Let us pour our bhakti into the cosmic event that is going to take place on 22nd January 2024.
From here, We, the Hindus, ascend.

1. On #6thDecember 1992, a most significant event happened civilizationally.
Hindus destroyed #BabrjiMasjid.
A pagan, polytheistic, natural religion (dharma) rose and took away by force, its most sacred site from a Prophetic Monotheistic religion.
This was unprecedented.
2. Never before had a natural religion like Hindu dharma reconquered its most sacred temple site from a prophetic monotheistic religion like Islam. All the native religions of Europe, Americas, Australasia and Africa disappeared without ever gaining their lost ground back.
3. All the native religions of even Asia disappeared except China, India, Japan and Indo-China – essentially two great civilizations - India & China. While China never directly was ruled by either Islam or Christianity, India fell to first Islam and then partly to Christianity.
1. What do the #Mizoram election results tell us? Mizoram, a border state with absolute Christian majority is small but significant from civilization perspective These elections indicate an increasingly difficult future for India there.
This is how.
2. Oldest Mizo party is Mizo National Front, (MNF) which was a militant Christian organization before Mizoram's statehood in 1987, and which had declared independence in 1966. Apart from Congress it is the only regional party which has ruled Mizoram before these elections.
3. It was this MNF which was the ruling party until before 2023 elections and which lost Mizoram, for the very first time to another regional party Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM). What does this mean?
1. Temples of Goa – A Case Study of Privately Run Temples
We keep hearing how Hindu temples should not be freed and State should keep controlling them. They are motivated by ignorance and desire to justify all State actions.
They are wrong. Here is how.
2. Private run temples are much better run than govt. controlled temples.
Goan temples are case in point.
Anyone who has been to Goan temples knows this truth. Despite being different in appearance these places are very alive. A little history is relevant here.
3. Goan temples faced destruction like millions of other Hindu temples. Their destroyers were not Islamic invaders but Portuguese Christian invaders. In Goa you can see how there is no difference between Christianity and Islam. Both tend to destroy Hindu temples and Hindu dharma.
2. There was no other reason to hate the Jews as much. There were many Christian communities which were money-lenders, rich, successful and influential. None of them were targets of Nazis as Jews were.
3. On the other hand, the way Nazis used democracy and then ended it by taking over Germany was a repeat of what Christianity did to the Roman Empire. There are more than enough Nazi and Christian connections as illustrated in the book.
1. #NarakChaturdashi or Narak Chaudas as it was called in my region used to be the most memorable day of the Diwali season. Yes, even more exciting than Diwali.
2. The run up to the great day was even more enjoyable than the great festival itself. This was the day some even dreaded a lot.
3. For very early in the morning, before sunrise, the elders in the household would wake up everyone for the sake of taking a coldbath before the Sun would come up. Everyone competed to bathe first even before sunrise.
1. #Diwali is here. And Hindus will be lectures to not burst crackers. Here is some perspective.
Here is a list of things more polluting than Diwali fireworks:
2. The food that you eat – yes, the industrial farming that has become the norm in Punjab and Haryana is more polluting than fireworks.
3. The meat that you eat – Meat eating is the greatest threat to global warming and biggest reason of global pollution. Abandoning beef itself can save the planet.
The car that you drive – Your car exhausts more fume every day than all the fireworks you can light on #Deepawali.
