@cnn: @gtconway3d says that if former Donald Trump starts losing caucuses and primaries ahead of the 2024 presidential election, he will take everyone down with him and won't support anyone who beats him.
PALM BEACH, Fla., Mar. 5—After suffering crushing defeats to his former ambassador to the U.N., Nikki Haley, in several critical Super Tuesday primaries, former president Donald Trump told his supporters tonight that he is suspending his campaign for president. “After seeing yesterday’s results, I have come to the conclusion that I no longer have a viable path to the nomination,” said Trump. “There comes a time, when, no matter how hard you’ve fought, you must stand aside for the greater good of the party, the country, and the important principles in which we all believe. That time has come for me.
Trump continued: “I congratulate Ambassador Haley on her hard-fought victories. I apologize that, in the heat of the campaign, I repeatedly called her a ‘birdbrain’ and at one point questioned whether she was born in our great country. I was wrong to say those things, and I regret having done so. I think a he will make a terrific president, and I urge all Republicans to support her. I pledge to do everything I can to ensure her and our party’s victory this November.”

“When you pick apart the many subsidiary legal issues swirling in Trump’s certiorari blender, they dissolve one by one. Take the contention that it is too difficult for courts to figure out standards by which to determine what it means to ‘engage’ in an ‘insurrection.’ The simple response to that is: ‘𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵? If Tony Soprano, Silvio Dante, and Pauline Gualtieri agree to whack Big Pussy Bonpensiero by taking him out on Tony’s boat, shooting Pussy, and dumping Pussy’s body in the Atlantic, and Paulie drives to Home Depot to buy heavy chains to tie to Pussy’s body so it will sink,…
Look, I didn’t actually say what happened at the end of season two.
Perhaps agents Cubitoso and Harris showed up at the marina and busted everyone. Who knows? I won’t tell.
