🧵 I’ve been battling the swamp for over a decade and I can tell you it’s tough.

I’d give anything to have more help, which used to make me vulnerable to falling for fake liberty candidates.

I have backed a few who won and then sold out… but they talked a great game!
🧵 After being burnt, I developed a litmus test for candidates running for offices above dog catcher:

Before you decided you were such a great candidate for office, did it ever occur to you to back other liberty candidates for office? Did you volunteer your labor or money?
Long before you knew you were going to run for office, did ever do anything like write a letter to the editor about an issue and sign your name to it? Did you join or form a group to fight for an issue?
🧵 If you were elected to office before, what does your record demonstrate? Did you do what you said you would do, even when it could cost you your political office? Were you smart about how you went about it? Did you spend your time in that office wisely?
🧵
Perhaps you know why I was compelled to write this thread.

Vivek talks a great game, but he does not pass my test.

He should get in the trenches and fight with us before he asks to be the General.

insert “how do you do fellow ____” meme here.
🧵
I agree with Ron Desantis at least 85% of the time. On those 85% of the issues, I can take his word to the bank. He will fight and sacrifice for those issues. He has fought and risked his career for those issues, and in those battles, his wife is with him 100% of the time.
🧵
There are many liberty issues, but none have presented a clearer test of elected leaders than COVID did.

Trump failed the test miserably.

Vivek was AWOL, or worse.

Ron called me personally during the critical time while everyone else was losing their minds and hating me.
🧵
Ron offered his support, reminded me I was doing the right thing to fight COVID tyranny, and told me that he was going to fight it as well, because he knew it was the right thing, and although it his position was politically unpopular he thought history would prove us right.
🧵(final)
That’s leadership: taking an unpopular position because you know it’s right, and using your power to empower people instead of forcing outcomes on them.

I don’t trust anyone else, regardless of how good their words sound. Beware of pied pipers.

Desantis for President!
