SitRep - 22/01/24 - Tusk in Kyiv and more aid from Belgium.

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Tusk came to Kyiv and Zelenskyi reported new aid coming from Poland. Belgium allocated over €600 million in aid to Ukraine in 2024.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours.
Overnight, 8 Shahed drones were launched towards Ukraine. All of them were shot down by Ukrainian air defense groups.
In occupied Makeevka, a substation was hit after which blackouts occured in both Makiivka and parts of Donetsk.
A Russian mortar was hit.
A Russian tank, probably abandoned, was destroyed by dropping grenades into the hatch.
A company commander responsible for units storming Avdiivka was killed.
In Avdiivka, another abandoned T-72 was destroyed. It burned out after dropping a grenade into the hatch.
Near Kreminna-Bilohorivka, a Russian BMP hit a mine.
The 47th Mechanized showed how it works to target Russian equipment and dug-outs.
Several pieces of heavy equipment destroyed by SSO units of the 73rd center brigade.

Lets continue with the general events. The EU is considering a new plan which aims to allocate an extra 20 billion euros for Ukraine on top of the 50 billion already being talked over.
New Polish Prime Minister Tusk arrived in Kyiv for a visit. Later he would meet Zelenskyi.
On the day of Unity, Zelenskyi spoke to the Ukrainian people.
Prime Minister Shmyhal and Tusk laid flowers to the wall of memory for those that have fallen.
Zelenskyi also announced new military aid from Poland and cooperation in the field of joint production of weapons.
Zelenskyi signed a decree, instructing the Cabinet of Ministers to develop an action plan to preserve the national identity of Ukrainians in the Russian Federation. An UNO reverse card?
After Ukraine attacked the complex in Ust-Luga, it will probably take weeks/month before it is operational again. This hurts the Russian export.
Partisans unfurled a huge Ukrainian flag in the Crimean mountains.
Lavrov being Lavrov, making up stories again to justify their imperialistic greed.
Belgium pledged over €600 million in military aid to Ukraine in 2024.
A breaktrough regarding the usage of proceeds from frozen Russian assets to be able to redirect them to/for Ukraine.
