1. I am an Albertan, a fan and I enjoyed the interview very much. I would, however, like to add some context because there is much more to this story. 🧵

2. Canada lacks electoral fairness. It always has.
The majority of Canadians live in Ontario/Quebec in large urban centers.k With the help of East coast provinces, they decide who becomes PM. Most elections are decided before the votes West of Ontario are counted.

3. Some argue that majority rules is democracy. For those of us in rural areas & Western Canada, this is tyranny of the majority. There is no regional fairness, like the electoral college. We lack the ability to vote a PM out.

4. Therefore, the naval gazing majority of Canadians make the rest of us look like fools. We have nothing more than hope they will change their voting decisions.

5. The Canadian Senate is also, represents Canadians disproportionally. They are charged with a 2nd approval on legislation (sober 2nd thought), paid very well & appointed by the Prime Minister.
Regionally unfair + unelected

6. Our federal government also appoints the judges of the Supreme Court of Canada, federal courts, and provincial & territorial superior courts. Again, unelected with no accountability to the public, spawning judical activism & a tiered legal system.

7. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is our federal law enforcement. Their Commissioner is appointed by the GIC on the recommendation of the Prime Minister.
Our last head of RCMP was exposed to interfere in an investigation to assist current govt policy.

8. Canada's political system is flawed. It has taken a leader like @JustinTrudeau to expose just how bad it is. His coalition with @theJagmeetSingh, the @NDP, keeps his minority govt in power. Any calls to investigate them is blocked in committees by this unholy alliance.

9. The next election is required in 2025. Many worry how much damage he can do until that time. With the findings of China's intereference in our elections (also blocked by committee to investigate) many wonder about elections be valid.

10. Most Canadians didn't vote for @JustinTrudeau . He has lost the popular vote the last 2 elections, but there are some of those naval gazers, you talked about that still vote him in. There is very little we can legallly do & even within the law, this govt is very vendictive.
