“Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl”

One of the most influential book I've ever read. Each line of the book bears a precious understanding of life and divine meaning behind living.

This book should be read by everyone once in their lifetime.

10 lessons from the book 🧵Image
1) Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation.

You cannot control what happens to you in life, but you can always control what you will feel and do about what happens to you.
2) He who has a “Why” to live for can bear almost any “How”. (Nietzsche)
3) The three possible sources for meaning:

- in work (doing something significant),
- in love (caring for another person), and
- in courage during difficult times.
4) The truth – that love is the ultimate and the highest goal to which man can aspire. The salvation of man is through love and in love.

A man who has nothing left in this world still may know bliss, be it only for a brief moment, in the contemplation of his beloved.
5) Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual.

These tasks, and therefore the meaning of life, differ from man to man, and from moment to moment.
6) No man should judge unless he asks himself in absolute honesty whether in a similar situation, he might not have done the same.
7) The Essence of Existence:

Live as if you were living already for the second time and as if you have acted the first time as wrongly as you are about to act now.
8) When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.

Hope and positive energy can turn challenges into triumphs.
9) Happiness and success cannot be pursued.

They must ensue and only do so as unintended side effects of personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself.
10) Human has potential to creatively turn life’s negative aspects into something positive or constructive – what matters is to make the best of any given situation.
Bonus:

It is we ourselves who must answer the questions that life asks of us, and to these questions we can respond only by being responsible for our existence.

“Million Dollar Weekend by Noah Kagan”

This is very highly useful and brilliant work. Noah has created a road map for every entrepreneur or thinking about becoming one. If you want to create a life you want to live, buy, and read this book.

10 lessons from the book 🧵Image
1) NOW, Not How:

Most People: Overthink first, act later.
Every Successful Entrepreneur: Act first, figure out later.

Don’t be afraid to act. Be afraid of living a life that seems more like a resume than an adventure.Image
2) Choose Your Freedom Number:

To make your dream come true, you first need to choose your attainable Freedom Number.

Start by choosing a short-term revenue goal that doesn’t scare you. The idea here is to hit on the precisely right ingredients for motivating a serial starter and boost your confidence.Image

“Reading an hour a day is only 4% of your day. But that 4% will put you at the top of your field within 10 years. Find the time.”, says Patrick Bet-David.

Reading changed my life when I started reading books and I never stopped.

The first time I finished a book cover to cover was at 21 years old. I couldn’t stand reading when I was in school. Whether it was reading about Lenny in “Of mice and men” or “that was then, this is now”. I had ZERO interest. Anyone in school who was a reader was the biggest nerd to me.

Fast forward a few decades, I now consider myself the biggest nerd I know. 🤓 It’s as if reading opened my eyes to a whole new world. The biggest influence reading and doing research did for me is the following.

- I got new perspective.
- I found leaks in my way of thinking that needed to be fixed.
- I was able to reason better.
- I made better decisions.
- Some convictions were questioned and some became even stronger.

My suggestion is to make reading a big part of your focus and make 2024 the beginning of the years where you’re obsessed with shaping your mind.

1) Power Vs Force by David R. Hawkins

I can’t recommend this book enough. I read it back in 2000.

Life changing to say the least. Do yourself a favor and read the book if you haven’t already.

You can thank me later!Image

“Clear Thinking by Shane Parrish”

The overarching message of the book is that our defaults encourage us to react without reasoning. This book will help you discover how to overcome your conscious reaction and make significantly better decisions.

10 lessons from the book 🧵Image
Clear Thinking is a critical skill we have never been taught. Until now. It is a hard skill to acquire but one worth cultivating. And this book will revolutionize your approach to thinking and doing.

A practical guide to mastering clear thinking that assures you progress in both your career and personal life. Well written, clear and engaging.

I would recommend this book to one and everyone.
1) What happens in ordinary moments determines your future.

Every ordinary moment is an opportunity to make the future easier or harder. It all depends on whether you're thinking clearly. Image

“Outlive by Peter Attia”

A thorough, clear, and actionable manual for maximizing our immediate and long-term health, firmly grounded in data and real-life conditions. A very important read.

Thank you @hubermanlab for this great recommendation.

10 lessons from the book 🧵Image
1) Longevity has two components:

- how long you live, our chronological lifespan
- how well you live, the quality of our years

The only way to create a better future for yourself - to set yourself on a better trajectory - is to start thinking about it and take action now.
2) Rethinking Medicine:

Medicine 1.0 - 2000 years based on direct observation and abetted by pure guesswork.

Medicine 2.0 - arrived in mid 19th century with the advent of the germ theory of disease, improved sanitary practices and development of antibiotics.

and now what we need is Medicine 3.0....Image

If you’re in need of a good book suggestion, why not pick up one of Joe Rogan’s favorite books. It covers a wide range of topics and has been recommended multiple times on the JRE podcast.

These books have helped shape Rogan’s worldview.

25 books recommended by @joerogan 🧵Image
1) Breath by James Nestor

This book is awesome. Most people have no idea how to do breathing exercises and how beneficial they are.

I learned a lot from his book and I’ve been using the methods I learned from his book and I can tell you there are absolutely some real benefits to be had from this.Image
2) The Happiness Hypothesis by Jonathan Haidt

I really can’t recommend this book enough. It’s one of the best and most insightful books I’ve ever read.

This book is just amazing for helping you recognize errors in thinking and personal biases that we all experience. It really gets to the roots of what makes people happy and unhappy rather than being some sort of a positive thinking, motivational book. Just outstanding stuff that you can really apply in day-to-day life.Image
