SitRep - 01/02/24 - €50 billion aid package confirmed ✅
An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Today, all 27 EU members agreed on a €50 billion aid package to Ukraine which gives macro-financial stability and room for recovery.
As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours and we include footage of visually confirmed destroyed or damaged equipment and/or personnel.
The Atesh partisan movement said it had set a relay cabinet on fire which stopped train movement in the Tambov region. It is noted by the movement that missiles were transferred via this particular railway.
Footage emerged from Belbek airfield which got attacked by Ukraine yesterday. At first, it looks like a building is destroyed while a radar complex is seen in the background. This adds up to the rumors that a radar site was hit.
Hit of the day! A Russian Project 12411 / Tarantul-III class missile ship Ivanovets was destroyed in the northwestern part of Crimea. reportedly 5 Magura V5 naval drones were used. The ship sank and joined the Mosvka.
Lets continue with the general events. Prior to todays vote on the EU aid package of €50 billion for Ukraine, Belgian PM de Croo was confident a vote would pass.
And after some hours of waiting, there it was... The aid package worth €50 billion for Ukraine was agreed on by all member states. Hungary did not veto. This gives Ukraine macro-financial stability and room for recovery in the next 4 years (!)
While the EU reconfirmed its support for Ukraine, China threatened Ukraine that bilateral relations could be harmed due to the fact that Ukraine has put 14 Chinese companies on a list of 'terrorism sponsors'.
Umerov stated that the Ukrainian procurement agency is about to sign contracts with UAV manufacturers which allows them to produce hundreds of thousands of UAVs of various types.
Johnson told leaders in the Baltic senate that a vote in the US House on aid to Ukraine would possibly be split due to lack of progress on border policy reforms.
Next week, US Senate will likely vote on a supplemental bill which includes aid to Ukraine. If passed, it still has to go through the House. It is not known whether Johnson will ever put it up for vote with Trump breathing down his neck.
