SitRep - 08/02/24 - Zaluzhnyi replaced by Syrskyi

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Zelenskyi replaced Zaluzhnyi for Syrskyi, the US Senate voted on debating a bill that includes aid to Ukraine and 100 POW's released!

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours. We also include footage of visually destroyed or damaged equipment or personnel.
Overnight 11 out of 17 drones were shot down.
The southern defense forces released footage on how they battled Russian drones with probably ZSU-23-4 Shilka
The 45th artillery brigade - probably one of the best equipped brigades out there right now - destroyed lots of Russian equipment such as tanks and BMP's.
During the day, General Tarnavskyi reported that yesterday a Ka-52 attack helicopter was shot down near Avdiivka.
During the day, Bilhorod once again got attacked
The 14th regiment with another video that includes lots of destroyed Russian valuable equipment.
AIM-132 ASRAAM equipped SupaCat in Ukraine
The WSJ with a depressing story which might be a bit exaggerated but there is a certain truth to it.
Ukraine with the help of Balkan countries is organizing a summit solely for Western Balkan countries in Albania.
Sad news. Ukraine lost a good pilot and human, fighting for the only good cause.
Ukraine has started talks with Denmark on security guarantees.
Scholz once again emphasized that more aid is needed for Ukraine. And urged other EU countries to step up!

Colonel General Syrskyi was appointed in his place. Syrskyi has a long history in the Armed Forces with both good and bad things he was responsible for.
The necessary votes were gathered. The bill which includes aid to Ukraine will go up for debate on amendments before going up for a final vote. This is the first step!

➡️The situation in Avdiivka has deteriorated. On the eastern flank, Ukrainian forces have failed to push back Russian forces, while the latter has taken further control of the area east of the Coke Plant and is pushing into the private sector southward. Image

➡️After several failed mechanized attacks east of the city, resulting in enormous losses, the Russians still managed to make progress and reach the first streets of suburbs. Fighting continues. Image
