Cait Corrain did a new interview. With the same outlet AND columnist that interviewed me. Cait is claiming AUTISM is the reason they attacked me and other POC debut authors. I am the author who had to delete my Goodreads due to Cait’s harassment of my book on genocide. Thread. 🧵

Cait Corrain is a debut author who gave fake low reviews to fellow debut authors to inflate/popularize their own book over ours.

They claim it’s partially due to Zoloft, BuSpar, Vyvanse, Lamictal, Ketamine, Trazodone, and more—none of which list racism as a known side-effect.

Cait now wants to shift the conversation apparently.

Cait quote: “I want to try and change the conversation around mental illness, around addiction, and around what it actually is like to be in the publishing industry as a first-time author, as a disabled author.”

My book, THE EMPIRE WARS, is about genocide. Including the two genocides my family endured. I am literally starting over from scratch and struggling because of Cait Corrain’s harassment. I genuinely thought I was under attack from ACTUAL genocide deniers.

If we want to talk suic*de, Iris Chang, the brave author of THE RA*PE OF NANKING was likely killed by genocide deniers. The Japanese gov hid it. She received violent death threats from genocide deniers, who demanded she be killed. She was soon found dead. This is serious.

If we want to talk disabled authors, Bethany Baptiste @StorySorcery is a disabled author that was mislabeled as an ”ableist” in order to protect Cait Corrain. Cait lied about her own actions of attacking Bethany’s book and others. Bethany is not even mentioned in this apology.

@StorySorcery To be clear, mental illness, suic*de ideation, neurodivergence is EXCRUCIATING and HEARTBREAKING. But, this was calculated behavior. Neurodivergence/meds don’t cause racism. I can’t believe I have to type that.

At least respect us enough to say “I fucked up. It’s on me.”

@StorySorcery Cait Corrain is also fake apologizing for attacking my book during BLACK HISTORY MONTH. THE AUDACITY!!!! Cait also used the same Black columnist who INTERVIEWED ME.

Thank you to everyone. It shows how kind-hearted you all are that you’re apologizing for Cait before Cait has even apologized to us 😭You don‘t even have to apologize. You‘re just so thoughtful. it really means a lot.

Further, in this new 2024 Cait Corrain situation, Im so pissed off for people with autism, neurodivergence, and mental health medications. it’s not fair that they dragged you into this. So many of you fight against these stigmas and now it’s being weaponized as a deflector.

It’s also unfair to people with addiction. Addiction doesn’t cause racism either.

Also, why did Cait Corrain bring up Matthew Perry’s death? He was a human being. He deserved more than that.
