I was struck by the testimony of John C. Floyd, III, the father of DA Fani Willis. Mr. Floyd testified that Willis was forced to move out of the brand-new home she bought with her own hard-earned money because of the death threats she has received. (1/6)
Mr. Floyd spoke of the fact that he, Willis, and her children (his grandchildren) have all received death threats because she is prosecuting this RICO case.
Simply because she is doing her job. (2/6)
Mr. Floyd testified that, in 2021, protesters showed up at Willis' home at 5 am in the morning. They were cursing and yelling, calling his daughter a "b- word" and the "n word."
The "n-word." How disgusting and vile. (3/6)
For decades, Mr. Floyd fought for civil rights & for the rights of others. He was a criminal defense attorney. He worked to get Nelson Mandela out of prison.
Only to have his daughter be threatened with death & harm & to be called the "n-word"?! (4/6)
Mr. Floyd spoke about how he rarely gets to see his daughter because of concerns over her safety. He intentionally does not learn where she lives in order to protect her. He is constantly worried about her safety. (5/6)
For me, as a parent, I'm working so hard to try to make this world a better and safer place for my daughter.
How terrible this experience must be for Mr. Floyd, as a father and as someone who has taught his daughter to treat everyone with dignity and respect... (6/6)

More than $360 million dollars must be paid by the defendants.
Donald Trump, Allen Weisselberg, and Jeffrey McConney can no longer serve as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in NY for a period of 3 years.
Smith: Trump's claim of presidential immunity "finds no support in constitutional text, separation-of-powers principles, history, or logic."
"And if that radical claim were accepted, it would upend understandings about Presidential accountability that have prevailed throughout history while undermining democracy and the rule of law."
"The President’s duties do not operate in a realm without law. They exist within a framework of separated powers in which Congress makes laws; the President 'shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed' & the courts exercise the judicial power to 'say what the law is.'"
JUST IN: Special Counsel, Jack Smith, has filed his Response in Opposition to Donald Trump's Application for a Stay of the Mandate issued by the DC Circuit Court of Appeals.
SCOTUS had given Jack Smith until 2/20. He chose to immediately respond.
"The charged crimes strike at the heart of our democracy. A President’s alleged criminal scheme to overturn an election and thwart the peaceful transfer of power to his successor should be the last place to recognize a novel form of absolute immunity from federal criminal law."
For Trump to get a stay, he must show that he has a "fair prospect of success in this Court." He cannot show this.
