SitRep - 20/02/24 - Failed Russian attacks in Shevchenko and Lastochkyne

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Russia attempts to further exhaust Ukrainian troops and launched several big attacks. Most of them ended in failure.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours and we include visually confirmed damaged or destroyed equipment and/or personnel.
A total of 23 out of 23 Shahed's were destroyed during the night.
Crazy footage. In Staromlynivka in the Velyka Novosilka axis, Ukrainian units discovered a Russian warehouse full of heavy equipment. One by one they were targetted and high likely destroyed or at least heavily damaged.
In the center of Donetsk, a fire emerged at the so called 'Government building of the DPR'.
A Russian BMP wanted to make his way through a mine barrier. Bad idea.
The 8th SSO destroyed several pieces of equipment in the eastern direction.
Lets continue with the general events. What remains of Avdiivka. A sad picture.
Coalition party's in Germany are pressuring Scholz to supply Taurus cruise missiles.
It even goes a bit further. The DPA reports that a proposal for new additional aid to Ukraine will be voted on which might include long-range missiles.
Bulgaria has postponed the delivery of their pledged BTR-60's to Ukraine.
Canada pledged more support for Ukraine in the form of 800+ drones
Sweden with a big military aid package for Ukraine. It includes naval capabiliies as well.
Sweden's ratification is getting closer. Which means possible talks on JAS-39 Gripen fighter jet supplies to Ukraine.
Bipartisan House members made an 'additional' bill which includes aid for Ukraine but also covers border reforms.

Avdiivka

➡️Review of the situation where Stepove has been placed completely in the gray zone and there is slightly more territory in Russian hands near Lastochkyne.
➡️Russian forces have tried to attack Lastochkyne in the past 24h and lost considerable equipment and personnel. Image

➡️Russia activated another axis, namely Shevchenko southwest of Vuhledar. A big mechanized column was completely annihilated by soldiers of the 58th brigade. Nothing/nobody survived. Image

Mar'inka-Pobjeda

➡️After securing Mar'inka, Russians have restarted offensive operations towards Pobjeda and managed to reach the village outskirts. The capture of the town is premature, although the situation is hard. Ukrainian reinforcements were sent recently to stabilize. Image
Let's end with news about Krynky. Shoigu was recorded telling that Krynky would have been 'liberated', following a video that showed Russians planting a flag, somewhere.

It was denied by both UA officials, and even Russian pro-war channels.

SitRep - 17/02/24 - Avdiivka officially lost 😔

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Syrskyi confirmed the AFU withdrew all troops from Avdiivka, skirmishes near Robotyne, lost Russian jets and the Munich Security Conference.
