SitRep - 21/02/24 - Iranian missiles and Russian advances near Mar'inka
An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Iran possibly delivered ballistic missiles to Russia, Russia occupied Pobjeda and Ukraine used HIMARS to strike Russians.
Yesterday after I wrote my SitRep, footage emerged from a Russian military site, attacked by Ukrainian HIMARS. Reportedly over 60 Russian servicemen were killed who were standing in line, waiting for a General to come. Instead. Lt. Gen. HIMARS visited.
Today, something similar happened in Podo-Kalynivka on the occupied left bank. A group of Russian servicemen stationed at a military site were hit by GMLRS. Reported casualties vary from 70 up to 200.
Lets continue with the general events. Friday, the US will announce new and stronger sanctions against Russia. Likely having to do with the death of opposition leader Navalny.
The group of Ukrainian pilots training in the US are expected to finish F-16 training course between May and August, depending on when they started and their learning curve.
In Poland, talks between the government and farmers are expected to start on Monday. Hopefully, this will lead to the unblocking of the Ukrainian-Polish border.
Reports came in today about Iran, allegedly already supplying Russia with ballistic missiles up to a range of 700km. Meanwhile the West is afraid of escalation with Russia when supplying long(er)-range missiles.
The Czech initiative to gather funds and buy a total of 800.000 shells for Ukraine is gaining traction among Western countries. Canada pledged a first, small amount of money. A lot more is needed.
➡️West of Robotyne, the AFU repelled several attacks. Russians that were hiding on the outskirts were either captured or killed.
➡️Geolocated footage does show Russian advances west of Verbove near the Surovikin line. AFU actively using cluster rounds here.
That was it. A new SitRep tomorrow.
