Before Mussolini went over to Hitler, he was working with the French, particularly Foreign Minister Laval, to contain Germany as the Italians did not want them to annex Austria.

They actually had a plan in place where Italy and Yugoslavia would march on Vienna pre-emptively. /1
The deal was that the French would station a brigade of their forces in Northern Italy to help them if need be, while a brigade of Italian soldiers would be stationed in France along the German border, ready to go into the Rhineland with French forces /2
The English fucking around when it came to the Italians and Abyssinia ended this, and Laval blamed the Bongs (as did many French rightists and conservatives) for losing Italy to the Germans who they were trying to contain /fin

The War in Gaza IS NOT HAPPENING. There will be no WW3 because of this new/old conflict, not even a regional conflagration.

Some trivial interest for @Steve_Sailer here as the Dutch are the tallest nation in Europe overall, but Southern Croatians (Split is in the south) are even taller.
Hajduk's starting 11 is entirely Croatian except for Rokas Pukstas. He was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Lithuanian parents, both of whom were professional athletes

For 4 long years the USA had a collective meltdown because some Russians spent $55k on Facebook ads during the 2016 US POTUS Election Campaign (which cost $2.4 Billion overall!).

Interwar Czechoslovakia was seen in the West as an island of liberal multi-party democracy in a sea of dictatorships and authoritarian regimes (Nazi Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, USSR).

Its dismemberment at Munich in 1938 was followed by Soviet-era communist one-party rule.
In 1968, the Prague Spring saw a liberalization of Czechoslovak politics and society, but it would not last as the Warsaw Pact (minus Romania) invaded and shut it down.

For the next 21 years, Czechoslovakia would be ruled by a quasi-Stalinist clique.
