🧵As an NC journalist who pays attention, here's eight examples DEI/wokeness at Duke:

1. Duke Health Anti-Racism Pledge
In May 2021, Duke issued a pledge declaring "racism is a public health crisis"

Although allegedly "guided by science", under pushback from an adjunct associate, a "Duke Health senior administrator" made the following admission:

"I concede that I cannot find a randomized blinded trial that proves implicit bias is the cause of worse health outcomes for African Americans. Believe me. I have looked."

2. PRIME-PREP
One of Duke's "signature diversity initiatives"

This NIH funded program "provides focused research training opportunities for students from backgrounds historically underrepresented in science and medicine"

The NIH definition of "Underrepresented Populations" includes women, non-White/non-Asian racial groups, people with disabilities, and people from disadvantaged backgrounds

I believe a claim has been filed regarding this program with the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR)

3. Alice M. Baldwin Scholars Program

@Mark_J_Perry has filed an OCR complaint about this Duke program for "female-identified undergraduate students"

The "advocacy" pillar of the program's objectives includes combatting "gender inequity", particularly "people with multiple marginalized identities"

4. Perry Initiative

After an OCR complaint against 12 universities, including Duke, for partnering with programs only open to applicants "gender-identify[ing] as female or non-binary", Duke claimed the event was opened to participant of any gender (or gender "identity")

5. Black Men in Medicine

Another OCR complaint has been filed against Duke for a racially exclusive initiative convened by the Vice Dean for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to benefit black male faculty

6. Racial Justice Task Force

Created by the Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) Dean's Office and Office of Diversity & Inclusion

The task force's recommendations include "address[ing] bias, racism, microaggressions, health disparities, and antiracist training in every semester of every DUSON program of study"

7. Transitioning Children

As revealed by @EdFirstNC, the director of the Duke Center for Child and Adolescent Gender Care, Dr. Deanna Adkins, was quoted in a 2016 interview as having "transgender patients as young as 2"

A more recent pro-trans article highlighted 16-year-old "Maddie", who was first socially transitioned by her mother at the age of six, then later received "puberty blockers" at the university's child gender clinic

8. Safe Space for Child Castration Supporterss

In response to an NC law last year banning "surgical gender transition procedures" on minors, Duke Health held a "safe and supportive space" for the "wide range of reactions and emotions" being experienced

1/10 Patriot Front is a white nationalist group known for their performative vandalism and costume-coordinated marches

But are they all feds? The case of a North Carolina member who was just arrested and charged may be illuminative
🧵🧵🧵
2/10 Kai Liam Nix was charged with four federal felonies and removed from the Army after left-wing journalists reached out to the Army based on information provided by the antifa researchers at Appalachia Research Collective

3/10 Nix is being charged under 18 U.S. Code § 1001(a)(2) for allegedly lying on a background check form for being a "member of a group dedicated to the use of violence or force to overthrow the United States Government"

(This would presumably be PF, but it's not confirmed) Image

1/ Let's break down how the ActBlue zombie-donors/smurphing/political contribution laundering appears to work, based on my boots-on-the-ground experience investigating it here in NC
🧵
2/ In our investigation (based on 2021-2022 FEC records), we found

- 2 citizens who denied giving the $20k+ each attributed to them
- 2 donors who did not live at their reported address

3/ ActBlue is a widely used Democratic fundraising platform, which is required to report the individual contributions it processes to the FEC

1/ You may know Roy Cooper as the mild-mannered NC governor who's a top VP pick for Kamala Harris

I know him as the tyrant who trampled our rights and had demonstrators arrested for opposing his executive orders while he himself did a photo op at BLM protest
🧵 Image
2/ On March 14, 2020, Gov. Cooper issued Executive Order No. 117 banning gatherings of more than 100 in a "confined indoor or outdoor space"

The order was written to prohibit church services, but not office spaces, malls, or retail establishments
governor.nc.gov/documents/file…
Image
3/ However, Cooper hit a snag three days later when attempting to issue another executive order to prohibit dine-in customers from bars and restaurants

Under NC law, the governor can only exercise certain emergency powers with the concurrence of the Council of State

(the Council is composed of the governor, as well as the nine other elected executive offices)

"The importance of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) is encompassed throughout these standards as a foundational aspect of all library services including the elimination of barriers to access."
3/8 - Staffing outcome: "The library is sufficiently staffed with personnel who reflect the diversity of the community and participate in professional development to provide quality service to the community."

Misconduct: "Participated in January 6 riot"

An unnamed MPD Officer received a 10-day suspension in 2023 for his behavior undercover on J6

Could be Officer Tomasula, who recorded himself acting as an agent provacateur with shouts of "keep going!", "go, go, go!", etc.
