So, Elon is suing OpenAI partly because he believes OpenAI's Q* model has a strong claim to being AGI.

Q* is OpenAI's secret breakthrough that was leaked during Sam Altman's ousting in November.

It's mostly still unknown, but here’s everything we know about Q* so far:
First, we need to go back in time to November 2023.

A day before Sam was fired, he gave this chilling speech:

"Is this a tool we've built or a creature we have built?"

"This is the biggest update we'll have"
At the time of the speech, we hadn't heard of Q* yet.

All we knew was that Sam was ousted at OpenAI and that Ilya "saw something".

In case you missed the whole Sam Altman saga, I covered the ENTIRE thing in order in this thread
4 long days after the ousting, OpenAI's secret AI model breakthrough called Q* (pronounced Q-Star) was leaked.

We also found out that ahead of Sam's firing, researchers sent the board a letter warning of a new AI discovery that could "threaten humanity".

Fast forward to now, February 2024, and Elon Musk is suing OpenAI.

Here's the first section of the lawsuit on Q*.

"On information and belief, OpenAI is currently developing a model known as Q* that has an even stronger claim to AGI"
And here's another section further down in the lawsuit:

"It appears Q* may now or in the future be a part of 6 an even clearer and more striking example of artificial general intelligence that has been developed by OpenAI"
So what is Q*?

According to leaks, all we know is the new model is “able to solve math problems at grade-school level"

Math might not seem impressive to most, but it's a huge step toward creating AGI.
But does Q* threaten humanity?

We don't know. The details are still unclear to the general public.

But OpenAI researchers seem to believe so, Elon seems to think so, and we still don't know what Ilya thinks.

We'll find out more from this lawsuit.
That's it for today.

Gemini 1.5 Pro's 1,000,000+ token context length is incredible.

I got early access and spent my Saturday night running tests.

Here are 6 impressive capabilities I found: Image
First, what is Gemini 1.5 Pro?

Gemini 1.5 Pro is Google DeepMind's newest update to the free version of its LLM.

It most notably has a 1M+ token context length, meaning it can understand much larger amounts of data compared to other LLMs/chatbots.
Gemini 1.5 Pro was overshadowed by OpenAI's Sora but is probably the biggest boost in LLM capabilities this year (so far).

It's not available to the public yet, but Google DeepMind was kind enough to grant me early access.

Let's get into the tests below.
