Let’s get into the biggest story to come out of Thailand since those cave boys.

1 million+ of tweets have been generated within the first 24 hrs alone. We are now 48 hours in and A LOT has happened.

This is going to be a HIGHLIGHT thread.
Alright so let me establish some context. and by the way, English is not my first language so please don’t expect proper punctuation I am tweeting from my hotel room and I am jet-lagged. So—-
On 04/03/24 police were called to soi 11 Sukhumvit at 5am bc a fight had broken out. 20 Filipino trans women allegedly ganged up on 4 Thai trans women. With 1 Thai woman being physically assaulted and robbed.
Words quickly spread as the Filipino group had uploaded content of themselves mocking and assaulting a Thai trans woman. This sparked outrage on Thai social media. by 3:30am next day a mob of 100 mostly Thai trans women were at the Filipino group’s hotel and they were pissed.
In this video a woman from the mob explains how 20 Filipino individuals had jumped a well known Thai woman who had been working in the Sukhumvit area for many years. She explained that people are angry bc these new Filipino girls are basically moving mad
by the time police showed up the Thai mob outside of the hotel had doubled inside.

The crowd was heard shouting “THAILAND” and “GET OUT” at the Filipino group.
people were pissed. a crowd of a couple hundreds quickly grew to 2 thousand over the span of a few hours. It was pure chaos and the police had no way of controlling the tension despite their best efforts.
As soon as police tried escorting the Filipino group into their cars from the hotel in order to take them to the station for questioning, the Thai crowd broke police formation and immediately began their assault. #สุขุมวิท11 is currently trending from this 1 moment
the video that sparked it all. The Thai woman in red was seen in this video outnumbered. She was forced to put up with mocking and verbal assault before the fight broke out. This is important context. Pay attention to the faces in this video.
At this point police had accepted that it was either now or never. Very quickly people were jumping over one another to get a punch in, multiple police officers were catching strays, shoes were being thrown and people were getting scalped.
One of the Filipino assaulter was caught and subsequently had her ass beat.
Thai girl 1: I don’t have any weapon on me, I don’t have anything

Thai girl 2: We only brought out fists and cocks
Apparently the Filipino group in Sukhumvit were known to be particularly nasty and unpleasant. This uncle tells us that when they would walk past Thai trans women that they would then stick up their feet at the Thai women (equivalent to raising middle finger up at someone)
police is seen escorting one of the Filipino into a police station. Some Thais were already there to scold this person. One person is heard saying “you’ve some nerve to bow like this at us bitch” and “why are you running? why are you running?!”
a Thai man is going viral for “defending the dignity of Thai trans women.” He was the only one in the crowd who was arrested and made to pay bail. despite netizens offering to pay for him, he refused and paid for it himself.
Thai people are calling him น้องแชมป์ (younger brother champ) he was seen being celebrated upon his release some hours later.
If you can’t tell at this point, Thai people are a very unserious group of people 😭……..
I am sad for non Thai speakers bc this event has generated some truly amazing LGBT moments…. “I call her white leggings bc she wore white leggings, like those skinny long legged white cranes, but her face resembled a dog”
Thai people do not play when it comes to our trans people. They are not “fair play” for anyone, especially not non-Thais. It is the only country on earth where even straight men will defend trans women. I have seen Thai men knock out foreigners for attacking trans women.
when drunk foreigners visit Thailand and start acting rowdy and violent to Thai people within the clubbing scene, other Thais don’t care if the victim is trans or not trans, being Thai comes first. This is why so many visitors are shocked when they get beat up or scold at.

In Thailand, netizens are currently lauding trans women for their rapid reaction to a male tourist who engaged in an argument with them before attempting to drive his scooter into one of the women.

With no rain for several months in many areas of Thailand and a record breaking heatwave, a rain-making ceremony was held. Traditionally, a real cat would be used, but it seems the locals decided on Doraemon instead—a modern twist against animal cruelty. Image
Thailand is taking this news very seriously. There is concern over the legitimacy of the rain dance, it it said that the tradition requires a female cat, however, Doraemon is a male cat. The news presenter said “they should’ve used Dorami instead”.
The presenters correctly brought up the fact that this rain dance, despite the absence of real cats, still serves an important purpose: to notify the community of a real problem. This alarm bell enables people to come together to share resources and provides psychological relief.

I did 3 weeks in Korea as part of my scholarship programme and a lot of students called me ugly & poor 💀 so I just bullied them all back to the point of tears/to where my scholarship was threatened but my doctors had my back & wrote the school a really long letter defending me.
it was very much I am not stuck in this shit hole with YOU. you are stuck in this shit hole with ME! some of the things I said were so wicked and evil it really surprised me but I was not going to become a victim
I was apart of a scholarship programme for gifted kids from lower income backgrounds. so they all knew that I was there bc I was poor lol. these were little kids calling me lady boy, gay, dirty, ugly & poor 😭 bc I’m SEA I romanticised the fuck out of SK as a kid 😭😭😭
