A thread on this seemingly uninformed and confused piece:
Let's examine this article for what it says and what it doesn't say. The assertions are: 1. The _onus_ (of what, one is left wondering) is higher on Private Unaided Schools (PUS) than on Govt. Schools; (1/n)
2. The RTE Act makes schools unviable. 3. The RTE Act would be an unreasonable restriction on the freedom to carry on trade and occupation4. The differentiation between PUS and Minority Schools is unreasonable and has no nexus to the object of the Act (2/n)
5. The Kerala HC judgment - where the HC refers to the RTE Act and directs Minority Schools also to ensure non-detention - is the way to go. That is, RTE Act should be applicable to minority schools as well.
