SitRep - 17/03/24 - Putin's 'election' and yet another oil refinery up in flames

An overview of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Putin won his 'election' while Ukraine continues to attack Russian oil refineries. Also, Transnistria and Domodedovo were attacked.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours. We also include visually destroyed or damaged equipment.
Overnight, 14 out of 16 Shaheds were shot down.
Work from air defense units. Pretty amazing. In the back you can see how many mobile air defense units Ukraine has present, trying to fight off these drones.
Ukraine keeps attacking oil refineries in Russia. This time, a refinery in the Krasnodar Krai was attacked. Significant damaged was inflicted when 7 UAV's hit it.
Also Moscow was attacked. A warehouse near Domodedovo airport was attacked and hit. The airport itself was also hit once.
Bilhorod was also subject to heavy shelling during the day.
A BMP-3 destroyed.
A summary of recently destroyed Russian equipment by the 92nd brigade.
In unrecognized Transnistria 'republic', a Mil-Mi-8 helicopter was hit by a kamikaze drone, local authorities report.
A mechanized column near Novomykhailiivka destroyed.
Let's continue with the general events. Trump - at a rally - once again made clear how he looks towards Ukraine. Republicans should know who they vote for if they support Ukraine.

Czech President Pavel doesn't foresee negotiations nor peace in the short term, given Russia's stance.
Macron said that he will visit Ukraine soon, but only with tangible results which includes new directions in cooperation.

Little has happened across the entire front in the last week. Avdiivka has been somewhat stabilized by the AFU, north of Kupyansk the Russians are unable to break through Synkivka and near Kreminna even the AFU has the initiative in certain places. We will continue to monitor it.

Russian channels report renewed incursion attempts near Ryzhivka-Tetkino and Bobylivka-Iskra. All events will be covered in this thread. Image
Incursion attempts are also reported on the Popivka-Spodariushyno border crossing in the Sumy region.
An appeal by commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps, Denis Kapustin.

"We again appeal to the residents of Kursk and Bilhorod regions! Your leadership has not taken any measures to protect or evacuate you, and the shelling of peaceful cities and villages in Ukraine continues as before! We are forced to return fire at military targets in the border regions! Evacuate immediately," he says.
