THE BIGGEST IDENTITY THEFT IN HISTORY

The centuries before the appearance of Jesus Christ are mostly deliberately kept silent.

To understand the New Testament respectively the statements of Jesus Christ and the apostles, it is important to know what happened during this time and in which situation Judea and the surrounding areas were at the time of Jesus.

722 BC 2 Kings 11:22-23

Israelites from all 12 tribes were deported to Assyria. Under new tribal names such as
Cimmerians (Celts), Scythians (Goths, Teutons) they moved westwards and formed the European nations of today.

2 Kings 17:24

Only a small remnant of the tribes of Judah, Benjamin and Levi who lived in and around
Jerusalem remained.

Samaria was inhabited by a mixed population after the Assyrian deportation, who later claimed to be descended from Israelites:

"For such is the disposition of the Samaritans, as we have already elsewhere declared, that when the Judeans are in adversity, they deny that they are of kin to them, and then they confess the truth; but when they perceive that some good fortune hath befallen them, they immediately pretend to have communion with them, saying that they belong to them, and derive their genealogy from the posterity of Joseph, Ephraim, and Manasseh."

A few decades later the remnant also fell away from God's commandments.

Thereupon Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians (Chaldeans)
and the people were carried away to Babylon.

The Edomites rejoiced over the destruction of Jerusalem and subsequently took possession of the territory of Judea:

They were driven out of the mountains of Seir by the Nabataeans and moved north into the region of Judea:

After 70 years of Babylonian captivity, a part of the Judeans (50,000) returned to Judea and Galilee Immediately after the return to Jude there were intermarriages with the Samaritans and other surrounding peoples:

"Marriages were therefore contracted with the Samaritans and other neighbouring people, and even some members of the family of the high-priest formed such connections. ...
But not only the Samaritans, also the Moabites and the Ammonites were among the people anxious to maintain friendly relations with the Judæans..”

It was intermarriages with the neighboring peoples that repeatedly encouraged the Israelites to worship idols in the course of history and led them to turn away from their God.

Ezra restored the order in Judea for the time being

In 126 BC, the high priest John Hyrcanus conquered many of the surrounding areas and forced their inhabitants to accept the Judean laws:

"John Hyrcanus took also Dora and Marissa, cities of Idumea, and subdued all the Idumeans; and permitted them to stay in that country, if they would circumcise their genitals, and make use of the laws of the Judeans; and they were so desirous of living in the country of their forefathers, that they submitted to the use of circumcision, and of the rest of the Judean ways of living; at which time therefore this befell them, that they were hereafter no other than Judeans."

The people whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 hath indignation for ever had now became a part of the Judeans

From God's covenant with Abraham, Jacob/Israel and his descendants now developed a religion, to which everyone, regardless of their ancestry, could convert.

In the 150 BC years until the public activity of Jesus, the Edomites assimilated among the Judeans. They were gradually integrated into the Judean nation, and some of them reached high-ranking positions.

In 103 BC the Judean king Aristobulos I. conquered further areas and also forced their inhabitants to live according to the Judean laws:

"He was called a lover of the Grecians; and had conferred many benefits on his own country, and made war against Iturea, and added a great part of it to Judea, and compelled the inhabitants, if they would continue in that country, to be circumcised, and to live according to the Judean laws."

Flavius Josephus - Antiquitates Judaicae 13.11.3

"The Ituræans and Arabians, all of whom are freebooters, occupy the whole of the mountainous tracts."

Strabo - Geography 16.2.18

In 47 BC Julius Caesar appointed the Edomite Antipater to be procurator of Judea.

"This man was Antipater, the descendant of a distinguished Iduman family, who, in common with all other Idumans, had been compelled by John Hyrcanus to accept Judaism."

His son Herod became king over Judea and burned the genealogical records from the archives to hide his true origin:

"He declared that his own was an old Judæen family which had returned from Babylonia, wishing in this way to obliterate the fact that he was descended from an Iduman ancestor who had been forced to accept Judaism.

"Herod, inasmuch as the lineage of the Israelites contributed nothing to his advantage, and since he was goaded with the consciousness of his own ignoble extraction, burned all the genealogical records, thinking that he might appear of noble origin...

His son Herod Antipas later ordered the beheading of John the Baptist
