(1/6) Trump enters this weekend a very frightened man. As we've said umpteen times, a malignant narcissist already lives in fear, using bluster and bravado to counter it. A malignant narcissist's driving fear is that their falsities will be exposed. Their GREATEST fear is HUMILIATION. Trump is dancing pretty close to it these days. You see his franticness in his posts. He is not only more desperate to force-feed his false narratives BUT - he's now ALSO desperate to reclaim his grandiosity.
(2/6) Very few malignant narcissists have been more steeped in falsities as Trump. When I have dialogue about Trump with colleagues, the degree of his falsities, and his effort and (to an extent), his prior success at protecting them, is a frequent subject of our wonderment. Think of how many there are, and how far they go back!
(3/6) All his life, Trump has falsified narratives. Like all malignant narcissists, this stems from deep insecurity, a craving for respect and legitimacy, and a deep-down recognition that they're unlikely to earn either on merit, so they make it up. He started lying about his inheritance so that he appeared more self-made. He started lying about his grades, so that he appeared smarter. He started lying about his skill in business. And later in life, he started lying about his health - he's so addicted to his false narratives and grandiosity, that he even started lying, cartoonishly so, about his body weight. (FFS)
(4/6) His most pronounced lies are about his wealth, and his acuity. Those two are his "anchor" lies. As they get exposed to their fuller degrees, he gets closer to humiliation. Some of those secrets and lies about his wealth ARE now getting exposed. For one, we now know that his wealth was built significantly on business fraud. For another, the AMOUNT of his wealth is not nearly what he's claimed. And the kicker - despite his never-ending bluster about "brand" or reputation - he's certainly not seen as a good credit risk ... by anyone!
(5/6) As for his other "anchor" lie - his acuity - we've seen that as he's aged, his behavioral disorders have become more severe. I frequently tweet that they now own him. And they do. So much so, that he can only reclaim his contrived stature (grandiosity) through BOTH victory AND vengeance. But these disorders - his pathology - is only half the "acuity" issue. The other is his neurology. He is cognitively declining and will continue to do so. This is why his team will cut down on his rallies, and it is why he will never debate nor - if he can control it - sit for an interview that is not predetermined to be hyper-friendly to his false constructs - notably again, his grandiosity.
(6/6) Bringing it full circle, he is a very frightened man. 2023 was the year he suffered true narcissistic injury. 2024 is already the year he suffered true narcissistic come-uppance. These are new to him.
Now - as his ANCHOR LIE about his wealth takes a pounding, and his pathology continues to own him, and his ANCHOR LIE about his health gets exposed by advancement of his neurological decay - he finds himself struggling to reclaim grandiosity - and he needs that BADLY. But the quandary for him, is: how can he reclaim his grandiosity effectively when the clock keeps ticking against him, and so much of his effort and energy is going into staving off humiliation and collapse?

(1/4) There is a pattern of events emerging that could indicate Trump is getting closer to narcissistic collapse. He's already been narcissistically pummeled. We can see when there IS narcissistic energy (like a rally, a friendly interview, or anything where he gets a "win"), he desperately tries to feed on it like oxygen. And when there's more narcissistic injury, as there has been lately, he deflates and/or attacks in a repetitive and flailing manner.
(2/4) NARCISSISTIC COLLAPSE is when someone with narcissistic personality disorder can no longer uphold their grandiose self-image and feels threatened, belittled, made fun of, targeted, disrespected, and enraged ... AND ... that then gets combined with a near-total absence of validation.
(3/4) Trump's protection has been his false constructs - his closely guarded secrets and lies. Some of those secrets and lies are now getting exposed. His wealth? Built on business fraud. The AMOUNT of his wealth? Not nearly what he's claimed. His "brand" or reputation? Well - he's certainly not seen as a good credit risk! All of these are injuries. He's ALSO having greater difficulty extracting positive nutrition to counterbalance it, especially now that they've cut down his rally schedule.

The fact that hundreds of mental health professionals have signed on to Dr Gartner's petition attesting that Trump has "probable dementia" is VERY significant. Mental health professionals are exceptionally careful. I want to point out three things:
2- First, the cumulative data available to these professionals is enormous, because Trump speaks visibly, in all kinds of forums, every day. Observation IS what this is about. Being in the same room with Trump adds nothing in this case.
3- Second - besides the forms of aphasia so often referenced by colleagues as definitive barometers for cognitive decline that cannot be as readily explained elsewise, there is also a noticeable erraticism in Trump's energy, a shortening of his vocabulary, AND - an increasing failure to acknowledge and/or correct his slips in real time - which cuts to a diminishing self-awareness. Plus, there are physical issues with his balance, motor skills, and a wide gait. We don't see the forgetfulness as much YET, because of prompters and careful handling of his appearances.

Is Trump becoming more psychopathic?

(1) The short answer: NO - HE'S BECOMING MORE DESPERATE. The source of his desperation is multipronged; foremost in relevance is NARCISSISTIC INJURY. And, with HIS added desperation comes added erraticism. To better explain-
(2) Malignant narcissism is already THE most dangerous pathology known, responsible for great inhumanity throughout history. Malignant narcissism is a toxic syndrome of narcissism (NPD), sociopathy (ASPD), paranoia, and sadism.
(3) Malignant narcissists lack behavioral regulation. They lie a lot. When facing a threat, they tell bigger lies. As the threat progresses, they speak the polar opposite of truth. "You're weaponizing the system" means "I'm weaponizing the system." "Your news is fake" means -- you know.

Let experts speak!
(1/7) Excuse me while I climb onto a soapbox and scream it FOR THE 10,000TH TIME! The mainstream media NEEDS to interview and enlist opinions (if not diagnoses) of mental health professionals. NOW! Is anything more relevant? (Rhetorical: there isn't.)
(2/7) One key reason Trump is so dangerous, so untrustworthy, is his inability to see past himself. He is pure id. And this is PURE PATHOLOGY! We need experts. Every global autocrat knows they can woo him with praise. Every wealthy leader knows they can entice him with money.
(3/7) Now that he owes huge civil judgments, his psychology and egoistic self, augments the bleeding obvious - OF COURSE he will make a deal to sell US secrets for money! OF COURSE he took documents to begin with to profit from them. (He repeats Nixon got paid $$ for his docs.)

(1/4) Many psychologists increasingly use Addiction Theory to explain the cult of Trump. The premise: Trump supporters engage compulsively, pursue rewarding stimuli, ignore adverse consequence. Like addicts. Explains why they adopt arguments that work against their own interests.
(2/4) One example of Trump supporters adopting an argument or action that works against their interests was not getting vaccinated. Another is sending him $. The former is defiant. The latter is compulsive. MAGA are addicted. The reward is owning the libs. The drug is dopamine.
(3/4) Dopamine is an excitatory neurotransmitter, aka a "feel good" hormone - released when we eat a great meal, have sex, or indulge in other pleasures. There are studies where rodents will choose dopamine over survival. Release of dopamine explains their appetitive fixations.
