🧵 Over the last 24 hours, Hamas propaganda has gone into overdrive about supposed rapes inside Shifa Hospital.

The chief purveyors of this lie have been Al Jazeera and Hossam Shabat, who is often referred to as one of the few remaining journalists in North Gaza

I took a look at Hossam's social media and noticed that although he claims to be a journalist and has appeared on multiple networks, he never seems to explicitly state what outlet he works for.

For a journalist, he's being quite coy about who his employer is.

So coy, in fact, that he appears to have.... blurred out the outlets name on his Hamas government-given press badge? Do I have this right?

Maybe this explains why he occasionally does his reporting without wearing the obligatory PRESS vest. Wonder what else he's up to when the vest isn't around.

Hossam is less shy about his role on the Municipal Youth Council of Beit Hanoun in Gaza, where, among other things, he meets with Hamas police and hands out candies in honor of the Hamas student bloc winning student body elections at Birzeit University. How sweet!

But what isn't sweet is the Telegram channel he launched on October 7th at 6:50AM, not 20 minutes after the Hamas-led massacre began. How forward-thinking and not at all suspicious.

I'll spare you the details, but Hossam posted horrific images and videos of the massacre all day

Here are some non-graphic screenshots of posts from the Telegram channel, including posting explicit Hamas calls for violence (he took the first picture himself by the way)

Hossam also posted some non-graphic but still despicable photos on his Facebook, including from the breached security fence

Like many other alleged journalists in Gaza, Hossam has a bit of a crush on Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh

So what's the point of this thread? Simple.

Word to the wise: A reporter whose sole purpose is to "expose the crimes of the criminal Zionist occupation" is probably not a reliable source for news
