A thread of all the things Israel has a hand in 🧵

Copy-Paste from @KlDGUDl is now suspended just after writing this thread on Israel’s involvement in conflicts all over the world.

ISRAEL vs. the WORLD
1️⃣ The Rwandan Genocide - 1994
Israel supplied significant weaponry to the Hutu militias responsible for the slaughter of over 1 million Tutsi civilians in Rwanda over the course of 100 days.
The arsenal provided by Israel included 5.56mm bullets, rifles, and grenades. The Rwandan Genocide stands as one of the most horrific genocides in modern history.
Israel has made repeated efforts to hide its arms shipments to Rwanda both before and during the genocide, out of fear of legal repercussions.
2️⃣ Apartheid South Africa 1948 - 1994
Israel maintained an alliance with the South African apartheid regime, supplying anti-riot vehicles and weaponry to suppress the native black population. Israel aided the regime in developing nuclear weapons and opposed the global embargo and boycott of apartheid South Africa.
For decades, the Zionist Federation in South Africa celebrated individuals like Percy Yutar, who prosecuted Nelson Mandela for sabotage and conspiracy against the state in 1963, resulting in Mandela's imprisonment for 27 years.
3️⃣ Mayan Genocide 1960 - 1996
During the Guatemalan Civil War from 1960 to 1996, over 200,000 Indigenous Mayans were murdered by state forces, with over one million more displaced, marking what is now known as the Mayan Genocide.
The Guatemalan state forces responsible for these atrocities were armed and trained by Israel. When the U.S. government suspended military funding to the Guatemalan state forces in 1977 amid the Mayan Genocide, Israel stepped in and provided over $38 billion worth of arms to fill the gap. The Israeli-made "Galil" assault rifle became standard issue for the Guatemalan army by 1980, with the state-owned small-arms production facility in Alta Verapaz producing its ammunition under Israeli arms licenses.
4️⃣Arming India's Violence in Kashmir
India stands as Israel's largest arms client, accounting for over 45% of Israel's arms sales. India purchases Israeli ammunition and air-to-ground missiles, often citing their "battle-tested" status from conflicts in Gaza. Israel supplies India with the weaponry used in the militarized occupation of Kashmir and the brutalization of Kashmiris.
Since 1989, over 100,000+ Kashmiris have been killed by Indian forces. Among them, over 7,200+ Kashmiris were murdered in Indian police custody, leaving over 110,000+ Kashmiri children orphaned and more than 11,000+ Kashmiri women raped by Indian occupation forces. Additionally, over 7,000+ unnamed mass graves have been discovered, holding thousands of victims.
5️⃣ Supporting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF)
There is evidence indicating that Israel is providing supplies to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Israel's objectives include countering Iran's expanding influence in the region and disrupting human and arms smuggling routes from Sudan to Gaza. Additionally, fostering better relations with Sudan could bolster Israel's ties with other African countries, potentially granting access to African markets, especially following the suspension of Israel's observer status in the African Union.
6️⃣ Srebrenica - 1995
Also known as the Srebrenica Genocide, in 1995 over 8,000+ Bosnian Muslims were massacred by Serbian army forces armed and trained by Israel. Serbian forces ethnically cleansed over 250,000+ Muslims in total across Croatia and Bosnia.
Tens of thousands of others were wounded, starved, women were mass raped, and many were incarcerated in concentration camps.
Many of those responsible for the genocide fled to Israel, where they were granted Israeli citizenship to evade arrest and prosecution for crimes against humanity.
7️⃣ Training U.S. Police
Since 1990, hundreds of American police officers, including agents from the FBI, CIA, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), have either been sent to Israel through police training exchanges or attended summits within the US sponsored by Israeli lobby organizations.
The knee-to-neck "restraint" that Derek Chauvin used to murder George Floyd is often employed by Israeli police and soldiers against Palestinians.
8️⃣Ethnically Cleansing Armenians - Ongoing
Israel has been funding and arming Azerbaijan's military since 1988, providing arms that have been used to kill Armenian civilians during Azerbaijan's ongoing ethnic cleansing of Artsakh. The Israeli regime supplies Azerbaijan with over 70% of its military arsenal.
9️⃣ Supporting Saudi Arabia's Military Campaign in Yemen
In recent years, Israel has reportedly provided intelligence, technology, and other forms of support to Saudi Arabia in its military campaign against Yemen.
This support has included the sale of weapons and military equipment to the Saudi-led coalition, as well as intelligence sharing and training assistance. While Israel's support for Saudi Arabia has been framed as part of a broader strategy to counter Iran's influence in the region, critics argue that it contributes to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
The Saudi-led coalition's military intervention has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties, widespread destruction of infrastructure, and a dire humanitarian situation, including food shortages and disease outbreaks.
🔟 Supporting Far-right Paramilitary Groups in Ukraine
Reports have emerged suggesting that Israel has provided support to far-right paramilitary groups in Ukraine, including training, weapons, and military assistance. These paramilitary groups, which have been implicated in acts of violence, intimidation, and extremism, have played a significant role in the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. Israel's support for these groups has raised concerns about its alignment with far-right and ultranationalist elements in Ukrainian society and its potential contribution to destabilization and human rights abuses in the region.
Ukrainian soldiers are also seen fighting alongside the IDF.
1️⃣1️⃣ Cybersecurity Cooperation with Authoritarian Regimes
Israel has been actively engaged in cybersecurity cooperation with various authoritarian regimes around the world, providing advanced surveillance technology, cybersecurity training, and expertise to bolster their capabilities in monitoring and controlling dissent. While framed as collaborations aimed at enhancing national security and combating terrorism, these partnerships have faced criticism for enabling authoritarian regimes to suppress political opposition, violate privacy rights, and undermine democratic principles.
1️⃣2️⃣ Supporting Colombian Paramilitary Groups
Throughout the past few decades, there has been evidence that Israel has played a role in supporting Colombian paramilitary groups. These paramilitary forces have been involved in counterinsurgency operations against leftist guerrilla forces and have been purportedly tasked with safeguarding Israeli economic interests in Colombia, particularly in sectors such as agriculture and resource extraction.
The support provided by Israel includes training, intelligence sharing, and the supply of weaponry and equipment to these paramilitary groups
1️⃣3️⃣ Pinochet Coup - Chile 1973
The CIA-backed dictator Augusto Pinochet seized power in Chile on September 11, 1973, overthrowing its democratically elected president, Salvador Allende. The following day, Pinochet's forces began kidnapping anyone suspected of being left-wing and placed them in concentration camps.
Pinochet's secret police, DINA (Direccion de Inteligencia Nacional), operated these concentration camps and torture centers, frequently abducting, disappearing, and executing Chilean civilians. Israel provided training to DINA and was also one of Pinochet's main arms suppliers.
1️⃣4️⃣ Supporting Sudanese Military Forces in Darfur (2003-2008)
I know this sounds ironic because they are currently funding the RSF, but wherever more violence is that can destabilize a region.. they will follow.
Israel has been accused of providing military assistance, including weapons and training, to Sudanese military forces operating in the Darfur region. This support has reportedly enabled Sudanese forces to conduct operations against rebel groups and civilians, exacerbating the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
1️⃣5️⃣ Aiding Sri Lankan Military During Civil War 1983-2009
Israel has provided military assistance, including weapons and training, to the Sri Lankan military during the country's decades-long civil war against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). This support enabled Sri Lankan forces to conduct military operations, including indiscriminate shelling and attacks on civilians, which resulted in thousands of civilian casualties and widespread human rights abuses.
Israel's support for the Sri Lankan military contributed to violations of international humanitarian law and undermined efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
1️⃣6️⃣ Supporting Repressive Regimes in Latin America
Israel has a history of providing support to repressive regimes in Latin America, including military training, arms sales, and intelligence cooperation. This support has been extended to governments with poor human rights records, such as Honduras, Guatemala, and Brazil, raising concerns about Israel's complicity in human rights abuses and repression in the region.
1️⃣7️⃣ Resource Extraction in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 2000s-present
Israel has been implicated in the exploitation of natural resources in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), including minerals such as cobalt, copper, and coltan. Israeli companies have reportedly engaged in mining operations and trade agreements with Congolese authorities, often under controversial circumstances.
Concerns have been raised about the lack of transparency and accountability surrounding Israeli companies' activities in the DRC, including allegations of corruption and exploitation of local communities.
1️⃣8️⃣ Resource Extraction in Africa
Beyond the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Israel has been active in resource extraction across various African nations, including Angola, Zambia, and South Africa. Israeli companies have been involved in mining operations, particularly in the extraction of diamonds, gold, and other valuable minerals. There have been concerns raised about the environmental impact, labor conditions, and human rights abuses associated with Israel's presence in the African extractive industries. Israel's involvement often prioritizes profit over the well-being of local communities and ecosystems, leading to instances of land dispossession, pollution, and exploitation.
1️⃣9️⃣ Displacing and Impoverishing Ethiopians
Israel has been involved in supporting resource extraction activities in Ethiopia, particularly in the areas of agriculture and water management. Israeli companies have been engaged in projects related to irrigation, hydroelectric power, and agribusiness, often in collaboration with the Ethiopian government. While these initiatives have been framed as promoting economic development and food security, they have a severe negative social and environmental impact.
Israel's involvement in Ethiopia's resource extraction sector exacerbates land grabs, displacement of indigenous communities, and environmental degradation.
2️⃣0️⃣ Exploitation of Haitian Laborers
Following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Israeli companies faced criticism for exploiting Haitian laborers in various reconstruction projects. Reports revealed instances of Israeli-operated garment factories in Haiti employing workers under exploitative conditions, including low wages, inadequate safety measures, and child labor.
Israel also has involvement in human trafficking and exploitation in Haiti, particularly involving vulnerable populations such as children. Reports have documented cases of child trafficking and illegal adoptions, with Haitian children being taken from their families and trafficked for adoption abroad, sometimes involving Israeli citizens
2️⃣1️⃣ Military Actions in Syria 2010s-present
Israel has conducted numerous military actions in Syria, targeting various actors perceived as “threats” to its security interests. These actions have involved airstrikes against Iranian-backed militias, and Syrian government installations. Contributing to the Syrian proxy war that was framed as solely a civil one. Israel has cited concerns about the proliferation of weapons and the presence of hostile forces near its borders as justification for these airstrikes, despite civilians being the most vulnerable and targeted.
2️⃣2️⃣ Use of Israeli Surveillance Technology for Repression
Related to #11, Israeli surveillance technology has been deployed by authoritarian regimes in Africa to monitor and suppress political dissent and civil society activism. Reports have documented cases of Israeli-made spyware being used to target journalists, human rights defenders, and opposition figures, leading to violations of privacy and freedom of expression in these countries.
2️⃣3️⃣ Supporting Morocco's Occupation of Western Sahara
Israel has faced criticism for its support of Morocco's occupation of Western Sahara, a territory that has been the subject of a long-standing conflict between Morocco and the indigenous Sahrawi people.
Reports have highlighted Israel's military and security cooperation with Morocco, including arms sales and intelligence sharing, despite human rights abuses committed by Moroccan forces in Western Sahara.
Israel benefits from the exploitation of natural resources in Western Sahara, particularly phosphate mining. Moroccan authorities have granted concessions to foreign companies, including Israeli-owned firms, to extract phosphate from Western Saharan mines, leading to allegations of economic exploitation and violation of the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination.
2️⃣4️⃣ Israel's involvement in supporting controversial Nigerian leaders has drawn criticism for its implications on human rights and democracy in Nigeria. By providing security assistance, including weapons sales and training, to various Nigerian administrations, Israel has faced scrutiny for enabling regimes accused of human rights violations and authoritarian practices.
Examples include the military regime of General Sani Abacha (1993-1998), known for brutal repression and widespread corruption, President Muhammadu Buhari's administration since 2015, facing allegations of human rights abuses and authoritarian tendencies, and the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan (2010-2015), criticized for its handling of security challenges and corruption.
2️⃣5️⃣ Intervention in Somalia
Israel's collaboration with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Somalia has raised significant concerns due to its potential implications for Somalia's sovereignty, stability, and human rights. Reports suggest that Israel and the UAE have jointly pursued various initiatives in Somalia, including infrastructure development projects, and investment ventures. However, the lack of transparency surrounding these activities and the involvement of countries with questionable human rights records have fueled suspicions about the true motives behind their engagement.
This collaboration undermines Somalia's sovereignty, exacerbating regional tensions, and compromising efforts to address the country's challenges

☢️ BEGIN DOCTRINE 🧵
Israel has long maintained a policy of "nuclear ambiguity" regarding its nuclear weapons program, neither confirming nor denying its existence.
But all the world knows that israel possesses a sizeable nuclear arsenal of hundreds of warheads. Image
Israel's nuclear program was born out of a secret deal with France in 1957 to provide a reactor, uranium, and a plutonium reprocessing plant at Dimona.
By the late 1960s, Israel is believed to have produced its first nuclear warheads and developed a range of deliverys systems. Image
Israel's nuclear policy is the Begin Doctrine, which justifies preemptive strikes against perceived nuclear threats in the region.
This doctrine was invoked in 1981 when Israel bombed Iraq's Osirak reactor, and again in 2007 when it destroyed a suspected Syrian nuclear facility. Image

1️⃣ René Felber: ‘Since the territories were occupied, the Special Committee appointed by the General Assembly is charged with monitoring respect for human rights in that part of the world. It has never been authorized to enter Israel or the territories in order to fulfil its mandate. It has prepared its reports by hearing witnesses outside the territories. Neither the General Assembly nor the Commission on Human Rights have been able to persuade Israel to change its attitude towards the Committee.’

2️⃣ Hannu Halinen: ‘It should be noted that as long as the occupation continues, the Palestinian Authority has no responsibility based on international law to respect obligations of human rights and humanitarian law, since formally it cannot be a party to any relevant agreements or conventions. Therefore, it is all the more noteworthy that the Palestinian Authority is making consistent efforts to act already at this stage in accordance with those agreements and conventions.’

‘Jérusalem n'est pas aux Israéliens.’

‘Jerusalem doesn’t belong to the Israelis.’

#Jerusalem
@MouinRabbani "Jerusalem: Before Trump, and pursuant to UN General Assembly Resolution 181 of 1947 (the partition resolution), which specified that Jerusalem would be governed by an international administration rather than by the proposed Arab and/or Jewish states, no US administration had formally recognized any part of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital or Israeli sovereignty over West Jerusalem. Additionally, no US administration since 1967 had recognized Israel’s annexation of East Jerusalem, or claims over it. Trump did both. Biden has maintained this policy without a single change."
UN Resolution 181 passed by the UN General Assembly in 1947 that called for the partition of Palestine into Arab and Jewish states, with the city of Jerusalem as a corpus separatum (separate entity) to be governed by a special international body. It was considered by the Jewish community in Palestine to be a legal basis for the establishment of Israel.
