THREAD 🧵: Donald Trump isn't just bleeding the RNC dry of funds, he's bleeding the party of voters. Those who know how he works best, his own former employees, are refusing to give him their vote.

Don't take our word for it, listen to them:
Mike Pence, Fmr. Vice President: "The reason I cannot in good conscience endorse Trump this year is because he is walking away from keeping the faith of the Constitution, a commitment to fiscal responsibility... to American leadership and the world."
James Mattis, Fmr. Defense Secretary: "Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society."Image
John Bolton, Fmr. Natl Security Adviser: “XI Jinping & Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-un, & others, they think he’s a laughing fool. And they’re fully prepared to take advantage of him. Trump’s self-absorption makes it impossible for him to understand that.”
Anthony Scaramucci, Fmr. White House Director of Communications: “We have to focus on Mr. Trump being the most un-American presidential nominee in U.S. history."
Bill Barr, Fmr. Attorney General: “He is a consummate narcissist. And he constantly engages in reckless conduct… He will always put his own interests, and gratifying his own ego, ahead of everything else, including the country’s interest.”Image
Farrah Griffin, Fmr. Trump Comms Director: "Nothing will break my heart more if Mike Pence endorses Donald Trump. And he didn't because he knows better than anyone this man [Trump] is historically unfit and he's dangerous."
Nikki Haley, Fmr. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations: “He’s gotten more unstable and unhinged. He spends more time in courtrooms than he does on the campaign trail…He’s completely distracted, and everything is about him.”
Cassidy Hutchinson, Fmr. WH Aide/Assistant to Mark Meadows: “I think he values authoritarian rule over our rule of law. And I think that if he is elected as the next President, we are one step closer to operating under a dictatorship.”
Sarah Matthews, Fmr. White House Deputy Press Secretary: "If it is a choice between Donald Trump and Joe Biden in a general election even if I don't agree with the policies of President Biden... I would cast my vote for him for democracy."
H.R. McMaster, Fmr. National Security Advisor: “President Trump and other officials have repeatedly compromised our principles in pursuit of partisan advantage and personal gain.”Image
John Kelley, Fmr. Chief of Staff: “A person that has no idea what America stands for… A person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators. A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law.”
Mick Mulvaney, Fmr. Chief of Staff: "I am working hard to make sure that someone else is the nominee. I think he’s the Republican who is most likely to lose in a general election, of all our leading candidates. If anyone can lose to Joe Biden, it would be him.”Image
Mark A. Milley, Fmr. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff: "We don't take an oath to a King or a Queen or a tyrant or a dictator... we don't take an oath to a wanna-be dictator. We don't take an oath to an individual."
Mark Esper, Fmr. Defense Secretary: "Any elected official needs to meet some basic criteria. They need to be able to put country over self, they need to have a certain level of integrity and principle, they need to be able to reach across the aisle and unite the country. And look, Donald Trump doesn't meet those marks for me."

EXCLUSIVE: This week’s LP Pod guest is Adelita Grijalva, the AZ Rep-elect whom Mike Johnson won’t seat because she promised to sign the Epstein discharge petition. Thread below for a timeline of Johnson’s pedophile protection, and watch Grijalva’s interview, dropping tomorrow. Image
SEPTEMBER 23: Adelita Grijalva wins a special election to fill her father’s seat in congress, promising to sign the Epstein petition on her first day in Congress. Speaker Mike Johnson delays her swearing in.
OCT 1: Republicans shut down the government. Grijalva demands to be administered her oath, as she won her election more than a week before the shutdown began. Johnson is nowhere to be found.

THREAD: Donald Trump is threatening to sue the Lincoln Project again – this time because we’re telling the world about Trump’s close and personal relationship with the pedophile and convicted sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Trump is panicking because he sees the MAGA base turning against him.
The Lincoln Project’s TLDR response to the President of the United States: Go fuck yourself; We look forward to discovery and taking your deposition, as well as that of Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, and the 1000 FBI agents they used to review the Epstein materials.
From Lincoln Project Executive Director Jeff Timmer, “The Lincoln Project is not afraid and will not be bullied by a tyrant. Unlike some law firms, universities, and media companies, Trump’s bloviating, flaccid threat only makes us more determined to speak truth to power and defeat the Republican/MAGA cult. PS, Donald, release the Epstein Files and don’t forget to pay E. Jean Carrol for that sexual assault judgment.”

🧵: Trump’s bill would be a working class massacre. House Republicans know it will most hurt constituents in red districts who rely on Medicaid & SNAP benefits to make ends meet.

The GOP Reps below are still deciding their votes. Call them now and tell them to vote NO.

THREAD: Key questions today for every reporter and Congressman looking into #Signalgate:

1. How can anyone (aka Trump) trust Mike Waltz going forward since he's so dumb as to add a reporter to such a highly secretive group chat?
2. Why did Hegseth copy war planning information from the military computer systems onto a Signal chat?

3. Hegseth needs to explain why he thought all those people needed the war plans? On MSNBC Goldberg indicated the Sec of Treasury was in the chat…. Why?
4. Why did no one on the National Security Team - including the Dir. of the CIA and WH COS - not STOP it and say Signal is not an appropriate tool. Why did no one check the chat to see who was on it?

5. Witkoff was in Moscow… why did he join such a highly sensitive group on a civilian phone while INSIDE RUSSIA? Is that considered OPSEC? (The answer is no)
