+JMJ+ In honor of Good Friday: Welcome to the Optional Preparation Thread where we prepare to pray the Rosary. 🙏 The Rosary Thread will be pinned separately beginning at 7pm CDT, 8pm EDT. +JMJ+
#CatholicTwitter
Prayers offered here in the preparatory thread, the opening & the closing of the main Rosary thread are OPTIONAL. Use as many or as FEW as you like. Skip around, even SKIP them altogether. It’s up to you. There are many ways to pray the Rosary.
If you’re pressed for time, you can always come back later. Rosary Thread links are archived at the link below.
Optional Preparation Thread. (Rosary begins at the top of the hour in a separate pinned thread.)
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Optional Preparation Thread
Earthly kings rise up, in revolt; princes conspire together against the Lord and his Anointed.
—Antiphon
Optional Preparation Thread
Why this tumult among nations,
among peoples this useless murmuring?
They arise, the kings of the earth,
princes plot against the Lord and his Anointed.
“Come, let us break their fetters,
come, let us cast off their yoke.”
Optional Preparation Thread
Now, O kings, understand,
take warning, rulers of the earth;
serve the Lord with awe
and trembling, pay him your homage
lest he be angry and you perish;
for suddenly his anger will blaze.
Blessed are they who put their trust in God.
Optional Preparation Thread
O Lord, do not forsake me!
My God, do not stay afar off!
Make haste and come to my help,
O Lord, my God, my savior!
They sought to take my life by violence.
—Antiphon
Canticle in Philippians, 2: 6-11
When Jesus had taken the vinegar, he said: “It is accomplished.” Then he bowed his head and died.
—Antiphon
Magnificat, Canticle in Luke, 1:46-55.
When we were his enemies, God reconciled us to himself by the death of his Son.
—Antiphon
We pray for the Church and all Christians, for the conversion of sinners, salvation of souls, and reparation for sins, including our own.
Lord, forgive us.
Lord, save us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Add your own intentions, too. You can always just say “for a personal intention” if you don’t want to say more. Here’s mine.
- For a special intention.
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
We adore You, O Christ,
and we bless You.
Because by Your Holy Cross
You have redeemed the world.
Stations:
