Probably you have seen many verified Israeli Hasbara accounts. But one in particular caught my attention. She is called CherylWroteIt(CherylE). She is relatively popular with far-right/conservative Israelis with verified check and she likes to post really long threads here🧵1/n

Her anger with the Palestinians mainly stems from the fact that she apparently was a survivor of the Maxim restaurant bombing that occurred in Haifa, on October 4th, 2003, losing her parents and sisters in the attack and her wounds rendering her mute 3/n cherylwroteit.substack.com/p/my-war

So, a little bit of context here, the Maxim restaurant massacre was a terror attack in which a Palestinian woman from the Islamic Jihad blew herself up on that place located in Haifa. 21 people died, and 60 were injured on that tragic incident. 4/n en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxim_res…

The thing is, that I found many incongruences in her story. If Cheryl can explain those things, I'll delete this. 6/n

As you can see here, it would be quite easy to see if one of those women, were Cheryl's sisters, or her mother, that she said died that day, since they are few. 10/n

So, let's first check the women one by one. This was done using Google translate to read the Hebrew obituaries of the victims, because there it normally says some of the family these people have left. 11/n

Let's first start with the first woman. Naomi Biano(25). According to her obituary, she is only survived by her parents and her brother.



On the restaurant, she was only with his husband Mark(29).

So, yep, it's not possible that she is Cheryl's mother(Naomi would be 9 when she had Cheryl, so impossible), and Naomi's parents and brother didn't die there. Cheryl said her sisters and her parents(father and mother) died on that day. So, Naomi is discarded. 13/n

Now, let's go with the second woman. Irena Sofrin(38). This is interesting. According to an online obituary she had two sisters. But looks she was the youngest(the third daughter), so again her profile doesn't match with Cheryl's story.

Even if somehow the translator is wrong, her sisters and her parents weren't in that attack or the list of fatalities.

Let's go with the third woman. Lydia Zilberstein(56). Her testimony also doesn't match with Cheryl's story. Her son Ran(32), her husband and daughter in law survived the attack. 17/n

Even her obituary confirms that her husband and son survived, and that she had two more daughters, two grandchildren and six brothers and sisters. Quite different from Cheryl's story in which her both parents and sisters were killed. 18/n

Now, let's go with Ruth Almog(71) and the Almog family in general. Ruth was married with Ze'ev Almog(71) and had 3 children. Moshe(43), which was killed in the attack, and other two daughters. Galit(43), gravely wounded on the attack but survived, and Iris(33).(wasn't there) 19/n

As you can see, Orli, Moshe's wife was wounded, and the kids that were killed were male. Assaf(11), Galit's son was also killed, and Adi, the female sister, and youngest, should be 25 by now. Doesn't match with Cheryl's age which she claims is 37.

The other child survivor is Oren, which is male, and should be 34-33 by now. Again. Cheryl's story again doesn't match with Almog's family. Both daughters, Galit, Iris and daughter in law Orli(Oren's mother) survived, and the kids killed were male. 22/n

25/n Again. Cheryl's story doesn't match up here. And if we look at her husband, Bezalel(30), and her sons Liran(4) and Noya(2 months old) also killed on the attack, it's clearly that we can discard her. (Noya is the 6th female, 2 months old, doesn't add up)

26/n Now, let's go with the 7th and last female killed in the attack. Bruria Zer-Aviv(59). Killed along his son Bezalel(30). Checking her obituary, 2 daughters survived her. Sophie(28) and Gabi(25).

39/n 13th male killed. Sharbal Matar(23). This case is quite interesting. He was the cousin of Hana Francis, and he was orphaned by both parents. Mother died from illness 5 years ago, and father died 3 years ago. He was working there to help her sisters.

40/n Again, his story doesn't match Cheryl's(both parents and sisters killed in the attack) and parents didn't died in bombing.

41/n Finally, 14th male killed and last victim. Nir Regev(25). Survived by parents, brother and sister, so definitely can't be Cheryl's parent or brother. Read the story, he was with a friend eating that day only, not with his family.

42/n Obituaries and info. Also check the ages of his brothers on the image. 30 year old brother and 19 year old sister. Cheryl's story simply doesn't match with him(both sisters and parents killed).

43/n But yeah, as you can appreciate, no victim of that attack and their family history matches Cheryl's story. I think she is lying and wasn't at Maxim.

44/n The only thing I think I can get wrong is that on the males killed that day is that there's no info on their brothers and sisters, but still, their stories on what they were doing and surviving family members doesn't match Cheryl's story.

45/n I think she also may be lying on her military service, her military takes are just awful. And if she wasn't on Maxim, she probably is lying on being mute due to the attack.

46/ APPENDIX: The ages of people and their family members are the ages they had on that attack, on that year(2003), I clearly outlined in some cases which is the age they should have now in 2024.

47/n (Also, on Sharbal dead parents, his father died 3 years before the attack, and his mother 5 years before the attack)

48/n When I'm refering that Cheryl is lying on her military service, I think she may only have done her 3 years, but definitely not as a sniper in a special operations unit.

49/n Quick update: I sent a message directly to that account, saying her story didn't match with the obituaries, but giving her the chance to explain herself, and after that I was blocked. She normally doesn't block and likes to reply people with long threads.
