The Ganga river basin is the largest basin in India covering an area of over 11 lakh km². Since it's a perennial river, the middle and lower ganga plains are frequently devastated by floods.
On contrary to the Ganga basin, the peninsular India is relatively a water scarce region. The gigantic Ganga Kaveri river link project was a solution to both the problem of floods and Scarcity, by moving water from water surplus ganga basin to water deficit peninsular india.
Nagpur Goa Eway is a 802 Km long, 6 lane, greenfield access controlled expressway. Once completed, it'll be the longest Eway in Maharashtra surpassing the Samruddhi Mahamarg

The Proposed Nagpur Goa Expressway starts on the Samruddhi Mahamarg near Wardha, traverses through 12 districts of Maharashtra and terminates at MH-Goa border near Patradevi on NH 66.
The Eway will reduce the distance between Nagpur and Goa from 1100 km to 800 km and travelling time from 16-17 Hrs to just 7-8 Hrs.
Route connects many important cities like Nagpur, Yavatmal, Nanded, Parbhani, Latur, Dharashiv, Tuljapur, Solapur, Pandharpur, Sangli & Kolhapur.
With the highest, 14% Contribution in the National GDP, Maharashtra is one of the most industrialized states in the country.

The newly formed state Govt immediately constituted a Board of Industrial Development (BID) to explore opportunities for investment in the Maharashtra
The BID recommended a Formation of separate Corporation for the establishment and effective Administration of Industrial Areas. State Govt accepted the recos and MIDC Act 1961 was passed
