BREAKING: Eleven members of the Advisory Committee on Muslim Life at USC have resigned as of Friday, the USC Muslim Student Union announced Monday, "in protest against the University administration's decision to revoke Asna Tabassum's valedictory address at commencement."
President Carol Folt had convened the 19-member inaugural committee in Spring 2023, according to the dedicated webpage for the group, to "ensure USC remains a destination university for the Muslim community."
The collective resignation letter will be read at a press conference Thursday. The former members will also release more information at the conference.
This is a developing story and will be updated with more information.
