SitRep - 23/04/24 - A final 'Yes' from US Senate is extremely close now!

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The AFU retook some ground near Ivanivske, and only hours left before new aid to Ukraine is approved in US Senate.

A total of 15 out of 17 Shahed drones (not 16 as in the post) were shot down overnight.
The takedown of one Shahed drone on its approach to Odesa.
More work from air defense units against Russian targets that were heading for Odesa.
In addition, an Orlan-10 was taken down in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
A Russian 9S19M Imbir radar for S-300V/S-400 was destroyed.

Russian assaults on DesertCross 1000-3 ATV's continuously repelled.
The 3rd SSO regiment destroyed several pieces of heavy equipment.
Russian hideouts destroyed on the occupied left bank
A Giatsint-S exploded in the vicinity of Russian troops.
A Russian base hit by Ukrainian GMLRS projectiles.
A BM-21 Grad destroyed by GMLRS tungsten.
Lets continue with the general events. A new Ramstein-format meeting is happening on April 26, online.
Germany is pushing the US to send at least one more Patriot battery. The US holds the most Patriot systems in the world and can surely miss one or two, which is vital for Ukrainian air defense.
Ukraine has decided to restrict consular activities and suspend all of them for men of conscription age at this moment.
The UK has announced a huge new military aid package to Ukraine.
Lithuania has sent more M577 command and staff vehicles to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian defense industry is producing new searchlights for mobile fire groups defending against mostly incoming Shahed drone attacks.
The US Senate has finalized procedural votes. A motion to allow amendments was rejected, and cloture was invoked by a large majority.

MAGA lost, bipartisan majority won.

Meanwhile, the US is preparing a big $1 billion aid package which is reportedly already waiting in Poland to get into Ukraine once Biden has put his signature under the bill.

Overnight, a lot happened. Homs was captured by rebel forces, but most important: the capital Damascus has been captured and Bashar Al-Assad has fled. Everywhere, Syrians took out on the streets.
