It's a very good, single-day-valid quote: "Live each day as your last day." Let's assume you lived that way yesterday. Then suppose you get up today. Remember that you have overcome yesterday's challenge and lived another day in life. So today and beyond, we should live with pride, enthusiasm, and gratitude and work toward what is good (though the definition of good can be relative) after having overcome yesterday's challenge.
Why I told you is that in the Y2K days, we all lived in fear of 00 to 2000 and how computers would handle. The concern was for all computer systems. These computer systems, if faulty, would have caused irreparable losses. So, all those who worked to fix that to make it safe, be it lifts, trains, buses, banks, or military installations, are indeed heroes. (Though most of them, who would have been over 60 by now, may have lost their attention and care.) I suggested this as an example for you to reflect on the challenges you've faced in the past. As you move forward, realize that each of you has been a hero in your own circle of life for a few days, and find a sense of happiness in that realization.
In the song "Chad Kroeger - Hero ft. Josey Scott (Official Video)," he is not talking about Spiderman. "The hero within you" may have made you understood. It is the fire in you that keeps you going.
"Your blood does not rot into a lifeless clot or thin out due to the hot ch'i of fire."
Source: "The Mirror of Zen" --Boep Joeng.
If you use your fire in the places of evil, what fire will be left in you to use it in the places of good? Indulging yourself in places of evil will only drowse the fire in you. Though the definition of evil is relative, few definitions are common across.

Say we have 16 years of education; we are always having mind at a target say final exams. By that we are always "Arjuned". If someone calls to a movie we will say we have exams (unless you are not Arjuned). You are working like how I have attached the story.
What actually happens after education, we join job. When we join job we either work for salary/promotion/job satisfaction etc. That target is decided by us. Weekends many take it easy. When once out of education we seem to be de-Arjuned. No one to blame for this. It's a problem to fix, so I put this post. The focus is on something else not on work. Else why best brains don't work for low salary even when work is great opportunity. The system itself is broken if even someone offers to work for lesser pay, they tell no you are over qualified.
In short once you are professional, the self-target you have to set to continue as "Arjuned" even after joining a profession.
Question is how to set? Once Gavaskar mentioned that if someone comes to crease to bat first sees cricket ball size of cricket ball while once he is set sees the same ball, the size of football. So in home, start to play cricket with football to get confidence. Analogy is to have audacious goals. Accept you can fail, you an only proceed a bit in that. Then work towards that. So you will not see your goal size of cricket ball but like size of football from beginning. Then without any distractions you will work towards goal.
So personally, I have such audacious goals (mainly in literature) and have done a bit of my work in ventpipe.blog. I have many others in pipeline that it's tough to reach. That's what keeps me away from distraction because unless something else comes bigger than football. Even if I fail, which I will, some percent of success is sufficient so it's both tough & scary (like the phrase in the song).
Schools/Colleges/Universities will only try to keep you "aimful/Arjuned" till they are with them. Post that you have to still have similar aim may be other areas of interest in your life is the key message of this post.
Else people will tell you have lost 16 years. Or the person who is more purposeful in later part of life or outside of education is more successful.
When I tell education it is some training stage before you are put as professional.
Why suddenly I put this post? Because you can become what you want to become with so much information/tools/trainings available. But still the "focus" quality is required.
thread continues...
It's same as it's advocated in this Insanity Exercise program. Observe high-intensity exercise vs normal. Similarly our task in other areas we can take this analogy and complete it. It's change "hare vs tortoise" story to "hare vs hare" because that's how it is in modern world, but target high. The hare which relentlessly pursues similar to high-intensity exercise achieves first.
Hare vs Tortoise story --> to motivate Students.
Hare vs Hare story --> motivate Professionals (this post is all about).
Else being too contended also leads to war/famine/diseases as per Josh's quote. You should support a cause consistently and should be visible as genuine. Else it is like to solve one problem we create another problem or the problem is not solved but just the symptoms. So being "Arjuned" is very important if you are standing for a cause till that is addressed.
Anyways all these are my personal opinion probably may be even posting as part of my personal objectives
According to Puloma (a demon), which states that the fire in you is the witness for your deeds, "sins and virtues" (vyasaonline.com/adi-parva-chap…). So to maintain that fire, we should use it for good purposes.
Wise would not indulge in evil and drowse the fire, but do something that increases the fire in you. Fire, you can consider it as mind and body energy within you to perform a task.
Reference to my other post, by being a "believer." x.com/satishsanthana… We make less or fewer mistakes, which probably will increase the energy in us. Incidentally, I had ended that post, "Lord therefore says, You concentrate on activity and not on the results in BG 2.47, and be not hesitant to take up new activities. Life is about a show of commitment being observed by the Lord; 24x7x365; it appears therefore.". Extending that statement and linking with the below quote from Pauloma Parva, I have given reference to why commitment is important and this itself is sort of derivation to Lord's equation in asitis.com/2/47.html
Attached also is a quote from Gitabookpress Mahabharat from the same Pauloma Parva, in which is why Agni says it will never lie. So if we sin, that's the reason why positive energy in us may disappear by that much quota.
Also, the story of the "careless statement" by the father of Pauloma when she was a kid caused her this much problem. I shared because we should speak well and even in jest, nothing stupid. So Agni clarifies that her father didn't state that as part of the ritual, so that is void. So in India, most marriages happen with both rituals and also in Agni's presence.
Hearing from his wife Pauloma, Sage Bhrigu curses Agnidev to become omnivorous.
Source: Gita book press, Mahabharat.
Continuing the above story, Agnidev becomes upset and expresses his concern about the curse on him.
"Ba don "riga'n domin" ba, da mutum ya mutu masiachi."
If it were not for rigcin domin a man (a fellow) would die poor. Riga'n domin, because of someone else, for someone else's sake, through someone else's influence.
Fawa biu tana bata hankali'n kuda.
Two pieces of meat confuse the mind of the fly. To hesitate between two things, two courses. More options, more confusion in the mind because more processing happens in the mind to evaluate the better option.
"Da ayi jiranka ga abinchi, gara akayi ka jira'n abinchi."
"Better that you should be made to wait for food than that food should be made to wait for you."
This is a wonderful proverb that explains why recession happens. When this change happens, i.e., food starts to wait instead of people waiting for food, recession begins.
Here are some guidelines for reading and taking notes.
First of all, I have experimented with finding a solution that works for me, but this is what I have found to work for me to read and take notes. It took me several months or years of research to arrive at these findings. I am sharing this information with young people to assist their elders at home or in their locality, as well as for personal use. The attached screenshot says older devotional scriptures are more precious than the nectar itself.
You need to understand that there are plenty of learning materials available on the Internet. While we read, we must take notes. I keep my quick notes on keep.google.com, which is searchable.
There are plenty of native language ebooks and PDFs available. You can purchase and read these ebooks via Amazon Kindle, Google Play Books, or subscribe via Everand, among other platforms. All these software programs are useful for annotating and saving documents, which you can then search for later. If you are a professional working most of the time in documents, I highly recommend readwise.io. It doesn't mean others are bad, but I don't have time to review other software.
I encountered an issue with how to highlight OCR. You can upload a PDF to Kindle, but you can't annotate it with OCR. OCR is a scanned document. For this purpose, PDF-supporting software offers the option to convert OCR into a searchable PDF. Once it becomes searchable, you can upload it to Kindle, annotate and highlight it, and potentially use it in other previously mentioned platforms.
Adobe doesn't support all languages being OCRed (making them searchable), which presents a problem. You can use the Tesseract library to convert to text with your own coding. Although the conversion may not be 100% accurate and the formatting may differ slightly from the original, correcting it will require additional effort. If it is a single-language PDF, it will be quite accurate up to even 95%+. Running on a local laptop makes it simple to experiment and also learn without additional cost. There are numerous ML NLP projects available on GitHub, but I lack the time to thoroughly explore them.
To me it is important that I cite the source for any statement, so extracting native language from OCR is essential, therefore. I use the paid version of OCR2EDIT.com. I also use popai.pro for certain texts to extract OCR data from PDFs.
To take screenshots, I use the GoFullPage browser extension. QuillBot.com for grammar checks.
If we go in wrong direction on highway, we should take next exit, return back all the way to point zero and go in correct direction.
This will work if the driver is willing to understand he is driving in wrong route in the first place.
Even our life is like this. Amid so much distractions the concentration is less when more options are available. We travel as per the gang with whom we travel. Still say while browsing phone or laptop we do it alone. If they browse in not so useful direction its double work.
Doing small tasks and completing tasks is not what an addict will do. So that appears to be a hint to be in positive direction. A simple example.
If a teacher has to correct someone.
1. First the teacher has to understand the current situation 2. He has to impedance match and work to bring to position zero. 3. From position zero he has to show the way to positive a direction involving in reality (or similar to practical classes in Education) with ability to bootstrap himself meaning one concept used to strengthen to understand next concept and so on.
That's when someone is supposed to be helpful to weaker section of society. That's when it becomes "past is past".
Tip: I always tell others to write as much as possible and release thoughts out. Even if we speak 10 hours to someone no one will listen. The crowded thoughts when started to release is like 10k hours running time. Just exaggerated... but that's the easiest way to come to position to absorb new things means first clearing the clutter in mind by writing on various websites or social media. Which teacher will analyze other thoughts and feel empathy etc. Even they have their own problems.
Tip 2: is start helping someone in small tasks. I tell best is find people asking questions who you have expertise and then answer them. You will get confidence that you have helped. Answer may or may not be acceptable to them but your effort of sincere.
Like that its for old problems newer solutions. Thanks to technology, communication, software, hardware etc but have a firmware mentally. 😀
Everyone does some task to become valuable. Say plan will be like when I become rich I will buy few things & help others like that.
Actually, the way to become valuable is to "empower" someone by knowledge or good thoughts or even as good teacher.
But all are doing that. So many courses on internet on any subject. But sad news is pupils are not receptive as earlier. Reason they are also distracted.
So the need of hour is to bring pupils to old level of concentration. I also have enrolled on so many courses but unable to complete due to different priorities at different levels. But even if we invest 2 hours per week we should be in receptive mindset. The other side of lawn always looks green meaning what we learn may not give immediate materialistic results. All these are also part of sacrifice as education involves sacrifice. Over a period of time, we will firm up. It's even beyond habit its like imbibed or has become part and parcel of life like that. But to my experience we can use 90% of skills to build community in some form or other which is like correct journey route at least if not destination.
Oldest profession say blacksmith, he can write blogs on his profession, publish in various social media and create interest in others. If used somewhere in remote place his skills after learning from his post, it's more of achievement to everything involved be it internet, photos creating softwares, the themes providers, the technical implementations behind the framework so on. In OSI model its a sense of achievement to people who worked in all layers. Of course the blacksmith will feel nice about his personal success oblivious of how his work has created merit in others as well.
That was just level 1. Now that he has released his thoughts about his profession, his mind is clutter free and receptive to newer ideas in the same area of blacksmith. He will search few links in internet and subsequently any other browsing will show ads relevant to his profession. He then goes to Level 2 and beyond and improves on himself. He becomes teacher, employer and creates an interesting ecosystem around his profession. The difference is the ecosystem is across the web. The web gave him to release his thoughts about his profession.
