As much as I have enjoyed Armando’s work over the years him and a majority of these ‘just vote’ people think that’ll stop the demonisation of those on benefits. Reeves has promised a clampdown since 2015. Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall said she would post budget…
Reeves’ husband Nicholas Joicey was at one point the Director General of Finance for the DWP. The shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper and others created the hoops we as disabled have had to put ourselves through that the Tories made WORSE.
Labour aren’t the friends of the disabled people think they are and in many areas (including mine) there’s only them or Tories to vote for so sadly tactical voting doesn’t matter there.
Will I be happy when Tories get kicked out? Of course but I know that the next fight is about to begin - and again when the Tories return to power. It’s an exhausting fight that disabled have to put up with because it’s easy to kick us and other marginalised groups.
One day they might look into the mirror and realise the rich donors etc are the true problem in this world but until then - we keep fighting.
