Morpho on Base?

The Morpho Association has recently deployed Morpho Blue and its periphery contracts on @base. Now, the association proposes transferring ownership to the Morpho DAO to begin the official launch.

Increasing Morpho's Accessibility

Morpho Blue has witnessed strong adoption since it was deployed four months ago, surpassing $1.2B in total deposits.

However, there is significant demand from users to have Morpho Blue on an L2 where transaction costs are significantly lower.

Expanding Morpho's Ecosystem

Base presents an opportunity to accelerate Morpho's ecosystem growth. Numerous projects on Base have shown interest in having a more flexible lending primitive and expressed willingness to build on Morpho Blue once deployed.

Deployment & Ownership

The Morpho Association deployed Morpho Blue and its periphery contracts on Base using the same setup as the Ethereum deployment.

Now, the Morpho Association proposes to transfer ownership to the Morpho DAO, allowing it to:

🔹 Enable new Interest Rate Models
🔹 Enable new Liquidation LTVs
🔹 Set a per-market fee
🔹 Set the fee recipient
🔹 Set the owner

The next step in bringing Morpho to Base will be submitting the vote to Snapshot.
