One of the things I like to do is cut my defender in half. We kind of do the same thing dribbling the ball on the perimeter. But in the post your super close. (Thread)
I attack his outside shoulder cut him in half with hop step. I can't remember if this was using remote play (my releases suck with that much lag). It's that or the contest system got me. That's my excuse 😂
This is where again I cut him in half and use his momentum against himself (RS counter).
This awesome right stick counter crossover. I've shown this before. I've gotten a lot fouls this way.
This has been my new favorite thing to do to a defender. The cut off. I was going to make a video about this move. I've done it vs humans too youtube.com/shorts/QLDw7DN…
It's these little contact animations I keep talking about. Jokic seems to have a few of these cool looking ones.
Ok back to the cutting in half.... I learned this re post using the defender momentum against itself. It's very slick. When he tries to get back into the picture. I hop against his momentum. As you can see it's an open shot.
Here is a layup version...
This is another favorite of mine. The backdown hand switch. You have to time those body backdown with the hand switch. Hop drive right past his defense or him adjusting. Because all a defender wants to do it be center with your body. Move him and you win
Finally post. I've also been using hop step after clearing a defender. It puts the primary defender in jail. As you can see in that last clip. I read the defender cuts off my spin move so I counter with a step back one leg Jokic jumper. Enjoy, Good luck down low!!

Switch Dribble Hand (in post up) is a fake, direction change and cut off. I'll explore that in this thread. #NBA2k24 #2knodribble
Here I use it as a fake and go right into a hook. With a little practice and timing. The hook is easy. The second clip I use it twice. Cut my defender in half and have an angle. Usually results in the fallen defender animation.
In this situation I'm heavily influencing a inside drive with all the fakes there. I cut him off once he goes for a fake. Easy layup to the right. The only way he contest this is by fouling me.
After thinking about it. And watching the animation. I'd like to take back what I said about "dead animation". More like I was being lazy 😂. This animation is actually a fake. When you're that low on the block. They don't want you going out of bounds. So a Tween fake
It's basically your exit from post up into face up (I like to call dribble mode. But that's me). Holding L2 will just return you back into the post up. Which will turn into a fade if you press shoot.
So I started playing with it. You can break ankles 😂. Remind me to never practice post moves with Mutombo on the floor. He's blocked everything 😂
Anyone use this jump out animation out of the Open Pivot? Works great with a mid range shooter. Opens a lot of space to create. Just a reminder this is me letting go of L2 (to get this normal jumper). I'm 90% sure most human defenders are going to protect the paint. I'll test.
This me holding L2 throughout. You could obviously go right back into the post. But that far away from the rim it wouldn't make much sense. Unless you are trying to avoid an on coming defender.
So after opening space up. If you let go of L2. You're basically dribbling now. You can go into a bunch things. For example....
1:Momentum Cross-Floater 2:Momentum Cross-Jumper
3:Reg Cross-Jumper
