Fantasia changes are just good QoL. I'd probably make the timer longer, but right now the timer is 60 minutes longer than normal (since it used to be 0) so that's good. Being able to go in and readjust for 60 mins after using it is just a nice move.
I am always about making adjustments for ease of use. I may enjoy more complex play, but that doesn't mean ease of use itself reduces that, and ease of use is better for the NPE, which I am always a proponent of. Image
Ok so I like this: Basically when an action is replaced by another action automatically, you can choose to say "No, I want it on my bars as a separate button" and just have that. This is good QoL for people who like that Image
I approve of these tank changes (as a tank main) and assume it is because of higher damage etc in the range. I am interested if it's just a flat defense buff or if it's like the job defensive buttons like Holy Sheltron where they do an additional thing. Image
Yo, Atonement having 3 different animations is a positive change for sure.

I am curious what this... new abilities after Blade of Valor is gonna be like...

Also Goring Blade requiring FoF is honestly a move I thought was needed anyways so I approve (not in the image but spoken) Image

Dark Knight, yeah there was just no reason for them to be two separate abilities with how they're used anyway, so I approve. Less button bloat is always good.

A new Living Shadow combo action is always appreciated I think. (Also sounds like Living shadow no longer uses gauge?) Image
Gunbreaker: Continuation combo added for AoE is good, I've wanted this for GNB.

ANOTHER 3-step combo? Jeeze, GNB is really becoming the combo tank (not against it, but now I want it for PLD cause I'm missing the complexity lol)

Monk: Oh look, Monk was changed again :P

I dunno enough about monk, as it's like my 3rd least used job, but does seem like an interesting change, can't wait to see it in execution.

So can accumulate up to 10 Chakra with Brotherhood active but ability uses 5 to prevent overflow. Image
Dragoon: So the final combo action no longer positional, which I am in agreement about. Positionals have become a lot less interesting in recent years.

LotD being usable at the beginning of combat without needing dragon gauge is a good change *nods* Image
Dragoon loses spineshatter but gains a clickable movement ability. Dunno how I feel about the loss of SS, but the movement ability is nice.
Ninja: Huton gone, instead becomes a trait and always active. So that removes some complexity that is nice, but it was already so easy to keep up I'm kinda fine with it. Image
Samurai: So only Tsubame-geishi if you use Meikyo?? Not sure how I feel about this change... hmmm...

Finishers upgraded into new actions though... I am very interested in this...

Trait reducing recasts for Guren and Senei as well, so more often usable which is nice. 90s? 60? Image
Reaper: Plentiful Harvest change is very good I think. Makes overflowing gauge not happen.

I've been wanting a new enshroud action too, so very excited about that.

Enhanced Harpe trait now makes Harpe (WE DON'T KNOW CAUSE THINGS HAPPENED AND THEY NEVER FINISHED EXPLAINING) Image
Viper: AHHHHHHHHHHH

I am loving how this job looks, and it brings what I always wanted (dual sword job) while also adding more via basically being Zidane on steroids.

Built to have less actions set on hotbar but using similar number of actions is good. Image
I keep saying they need to create traiting abilities together etc so we can reduce clutter w/o reducing buttons

With the new system, you can choose to not use it too, so all jobs kinda need this

Viper attacks change based on last used ability, buff you have, or debuff enemy has
Level 100 Viper bars on stream.

Reduced NUMBER of active buttons on your bars, but what you do changes them so that you still have the 32+ buttons to press.

They do what I think NEEDS to be done, which is simple 1-2-3 combos are one button to make room for MORE COOL ABILITIES!! Image
AND AGAIN, with the new system added to the game, YOU can choose to keep it as a 1-2-3 instead of a 1-1-1.

By doing this, it's so much more helpful for everyone, & I do think all jobs should have this decluttering done to them(since you can personally choose to keep the clutter)
But Viper is looking exceedingly fun, and I like the more compact design while still having the same number of abilities as others.

I was already excited for Viper for the aesthetic design, but now I am wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more excited seeing it in action.

"Damage dealth by enemy is decreased debuff" which... affects your combo?? So Viper is just gonna bring raw damage down to bosses?? Does that make them a staple melee?? Or does it only reduce damage dealt to THEM by the boss?? They talking words but not explaining AHHHH
The Viper ranged combo is exactly what I've kind of said they should add to Monk (and maybe all melee) where you just... press a button and now you have a ranged combo.. Though it does look smaller than I'd like, but still kinda cool.

Phys Ranged getting the same Second Wind update as melee.

The role damage reductions ("job exclusive") will be increased to 15% from 10% further reinforcing the ouchies are getting hurtier. Image
Bard: So dropping the songs BACK to buffs. Interesting, I liked the changes we got to have them as combo-ish things, but I am hearing bards are happy so yay?

Pitch Perfect change is good. I am a proponent of "make everything AoE and just do more damage during single target" lol Image
Machinist: Removing gauge overflow on pretty much every job with a gauge it appears, and that is just kinda good.

Yoooo, more drilling? I love drilling, so the more I can drill, the happier I am! I'd drill all day if I could! Image
Dancer: They get dancier. Flourish combo. Boom. New Espirit action. Boom.

Magical Ranged: SWIFTCAST RECAST TIMER REDUCED TO 40s IN THE 90s! YOOOOO!? Feck yeah buddy.

Black Mage: So MP restoration is now on hit with ice abilities instead of over time. I think this is a good and smart change, making it not tied to server tics.

Ley Lines reposition is just god-tier. Good change. Good job YoshiP. Image

Searing Light combo action? Excuse me? Interesting. So an attack after the party buff.

Solar Bahamut>Bahamut>Solar Bahamut>Phoenix is the new summon order, interesting...

Red Mage: More job gauge overflow protection. Like I said, good move.

AoE melee no longer consumes 60 mana, and instead consumes 50 like single target. Much better move.

Embolden (party buff) now also has an attack added as a combo. I am liking this move across the board. Image
PICTOMANCER: I am excited for this as well!

The Motifs look so interesting and how they work... I am so curious how this will play. Seems like ninja and monk and a bit like reaper...

Picto also seems to be like BRD/DNC as a party buffer. I always like party buffs. Image
Pictomancer bars. Picto is 100, also much smaller than most jobs. Similar to a Red Mage's bars. I am big approving of the reduced clutter. Image
Motifs are: A creature motif, a weapon motif, and a landscape motif. These go in order from left to right on the canvas job gauge.

Motifs have a cast time in combat but no cast time out of combat. So you can set them up before a boss fight in savage for example. Image
Motifs are painted and ready to be used. Image
Picto has a skill combo system type of casting where the main cast turns into the next cast until you've cast them all adding to the palette job gauge.

You can use the charges (blue button) to execute an instant cast spell. Image
By consuming charge from the rainbow gauge you can change the element of your main combo.

By swapping you get longer cast times but more powerful attacks in the new element. For example they cast Holy before swapping, but then cast Meteor after swapping. Image
Pictomancer also gets a dancer-esque charge forward.

After using it movement speed is also increased for 5 seconds.
Motifs are individual and can be used in any order you want whenever you want (as long as you have charges and motifs in the slot) Image
Motifs change as you use them. Where creature was originally the PomPom, now the Wings are in its slot when you add the creature motif.

If you look above the motif, the Pompom has been added to a new gauge after being used. Image
Because we made a pompom and wings, you can now render a moogle! This moogle now does a LASER BEAM attack called "Mog of All Ages"!

It's confusing right now, but you just rending so many creatures by combining creature parts to make a creature.
Weapon motifs add combos using the weapons you drew to make the combo. These combos can be used from range, and are instant cast.
Landscape Motifs are used for your party buffs. Because of this they have a longer cooldown (120s) when used.

While this buff is down, your longer cast combo abilities are reduced down to normal cast times (apparently).
Watching it in play, Picto looks kinda wild, but very fun. I am excited to try it out.
Healers: Swiftcast reduced to 40s recast in the 90s level range just like dps casters. Image
White Mage: Every white mage already plays Dancer as their main DPS, so we'll just add En Evante.

Also PoM now has a triple use AoE attached... interesting.. does this make PoM used only DPS now? it was rarely used for healing, sure, but there were cases where it helped with rez Image
Scholar: Make the Scholar a holy Scholar and thus it heals harder, obv!

More attacks added to buffs, and this one makes the MOST sense, haha. Is a DoT added to Chain Strat as a combo attack.

Scholar gets reduced recast time on Recitation and others too. Image
Astrologian: Oh interesting, cards are drawn in order instead of random.. I wonder how drastically this will change how Astro plays..

Every 60 seconds you draw 4 cards (attack, defense, cure, something else) & use them whenever you want in that 60s.

7.1 and on is when we see PvP actions change, and new maps etc. Kinda excited to see more new maps.
