SitRep - 22/05/24 - New aid from Western partners and another S-300/400 taken out?
An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Sweden announced a three-year €6.5 billion aid package and another S-300/400 complex was targetted.
As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours. We also include footage of visually confirmed damaged or destroyed Russian equipment and/or personnel.
Around 14:00, Ukraine attacked Mospyno in occupied Donetsk. Reportedly another S-300/400 complex was taken out. These systems are being destroyed left and right since Ukraine has access to a larger stock of ATACMS.
Lets continue with the general events. The US hasn't changed its positions regarding the restriction of using US supplied weapons in Russia by Ukraine.
British Minister of Defense Grant Shapps accuses China of delivering, or at least planning to deliver, lethal aid to Russia which is used in and against Ukraine.
In another attempt to scare and threathen other the Baltics and other Northern European countries, Russias has decided to 'rethink' its maritime borders.
To the front line situation. For the latest state of affairs at the front, I advise you to consult my interactive map. Today we focus on Vovchansk and Ocheretyne. Other changes are reported near Staromaiorske and Chasiv Yar.
➡️New geolocated footage confirms further progress by Russian forces north of the Vovcha river inside Vovchansk. By now, it is pretty clear that Ukraine has retreated behind the river and took up new defense there. Raids north of the river are still being conducted.
The 82nd Brigade is part of the defense inside the city.
Horrible footage from Vovchansk. Innocent civilians, killed and left behind in the streets. Russians come, kill and destroy. Another Bucha right before our eyes.
➡️A big chunk of the visible advances on this map are a reassesment of the situation weeks ago. It turned out my map was a bit conservative in terms of Russian occupied area. New small advances were reported towards Novooleksandrivka.
