Stylus is going to be the biggest launch by @arbitrum by far.
It's time to wake up and learn about why Stylus is a big deal for the entire blockchain industry š§µ
You must be happy, given the fact that you're getting airdrops just for testing protocols.
more people are joining the herd with higher expectation, but they will get nothing in the end.
And That's how the whole onchain user growth story will end.
But do you know what is really bad here?
Devs are leaving the space in the fabricated jungle of on-chain users where protocols are having a hard time retaining farmers post-TGE.
Devs leaving the space is bad because you won't see any new innovation, and projects will keep forking Aave, Compound, and GMX.. dead end.
What is the solution here? How to motivate devs to stay, and how to bring new devs to the space?
The simple way out is to distribute incentives to devs for being active in the Web3 dev scene.
Projects have started airdropping tokens to them, and that's a very positive thing for the space.
The second way, which is a more long-term solution, is that projects should reduce the entry barrier for new devs.
They should be easily onboarded into the Web3 dev scene even if they only know basic languages like C or C++.
Imagine a C developer trying out building dapps on EVM.. pretty cool, right?
Arbitrum Stylus is building a C-equivalent VM which allows devs to code in C, C++, Rust, and any language which could be pre-compiled to WASM.
Initially, they've opened support for Rust and C.
Rust has 12M devs in the world, and how many devs know Solidity?
Less than 100K.
Basically, Arbitrum Stylus could tap into a major mindshare of Rust and C developers who could be ready to deploy from day one.. and now it's easy to deploy on Arbitrum.
Stylus doesn't only allow non-Solidity devs to code and deploy dapps, but it also improves execution by 10x as Stylus supports optimized WASM binary codes, and it also scales memory by 50-100x.
Arbitrum also uses Nitro fraud-proof tech to validate the accuracy of code which got compiled from C/Rust to WASM.
Stylus is a natural extension to Nitro's fraud-proving technology, utilizing it to not only bisect over execution history but also any WASM programs deployed by devs.
After Stylus, devs could also build high-memory applications on EVM like forecasting models, complex generative art, and on-chain machine learning. AI could be explored with better performance on EVM.
Also, every dapp you build on Stylus is interoperable with Rust dapps, so interacting between Arbitrum ecosystem dapps and Solana would become seamless.
Arbitrum Stylus testnet is live; you could start using the Stylus SDK to build dapps in C and Rust.
I'm expecting Stylus to go live on mainnet in the next 3-5 months, and it's going to become the biggest upgrade for Arbitrum for the better future of its dev and user adoption.
That's all from this thread.

Less than 1% of the Bitcoin supply is currently used in DeFi.
With the rise of Bitcoin L2s/Sidechains, this number could easily increase to 10%.
Botanix has the best potential to emerge as the market leader in Bitcoin DeFi.
My Investment Thesis on @BotanixLabs š§µ
Around 0.8% of the Bitcoin supply is on Ethereum right now, mostly issued as WBTC and under the custody of BitGo.
The WBTC supply has actually seen a massive decline over the past 18 months; it has fallen from 0.92% to 0.80%.
Some people have moved to hBTC and tBTC, but those numbers are also down.
You could simply conclude that people are losing interest in wrapped BTC for multiple reasons, such as: BitGo holding the custody of your assets, liquidity issues, and multiple DeFi protocol hacks in the past.
