Questions raised about Kari Lake receiving unreported free campaign services from tech company: report

According to Bredderman, there is no evidence of Lake campaign payments to the tech company, but that doesn't mean there is not a financial connection.

"In personal financial reports Lake filed with the state earlier this year, she reported receiving compensation for work as a 'communication advisor' to 🚩FeedMe, Inc. The forms do not specify the amount of the commission, except that it exceeded $1,000," he wrote before adding, "Arizona corporate records, and filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, show that 🚩FeedMe was an old moniker that Superfeed abandoned more than a year before Lake made her disclosure. The address Superfeed lists on its website is the 🚩same UPS Store which Lake identified in the disclosure as the location of her and her husband’s personal businesses."

According to his report, questions about the relationship between the GOP candidate for governor and the company went unanswered.

Scott Presler, a Virginia native with a long history of right-wing extremism, called the Jan. 6 attack, “the largest civil rights protest in American history,” and has posted on social media about coming to ✏️Wisconsin to campaign with several local Republican groups. He’s appeared with the ✏️Republican Women of Waukesha County — a partisan group which drew attention in 2020 for giving a standing ovation to Kyle Rittenhouse’s mother at an event — and the ✏️Kenosha County Republican Party. 

✏️”March is dedicated to Wisconsin,” Presler tweeted in late February. 

On March 15, a Kelly fundraising event in Brookfield listed Presler as the “special guest.” On March 12, the right-wing radio host Vicki McKenna posted a photo on Twitter of herself and conservative Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Braldey with Presler at an Ozaukee County Republican Party event. Kelly replied to the tweet, thanking the trio for their work helping his campaign.

Emails and documents obtained by H.O.T. Government allege that individuals affiliated with Mark Zuckerberg’s Center for Tech and Civic Life the Election Group and National Vote at Home Institute took control of the City of Racine WI. 2020 election and the election procedures.

Weekly meeting agendas were set by “The Election Group” A sample ballot and envelope were also sent to Michael Spitzer Rubenstein by Racine Clerk Tara Coolidge. Additional emails show that Ari Steinberg was introduced to Racine Clerk Tara Coolidge “We are going to bring in Ari Steinberg at U.S. Digital Response” Steinberg was brought in to develop a vote tracking app for Coolidge “Can we create a ballot log outside of WisVote, either for election day or for the entire process too?”

WisVote is a comprehensive election management system that municipalities and counties use to manage voters, absentee ballots, poll workers, and other election details. WEC developed the current system in 2016 to ensure voter data contained within remains secure. Another email states “So all I need from you is the data from WisVote”. “You can download the full list of active voters and absentee ballots I can process everything, so you won’t need to.”

Former Facebook engineer Ari Steinberg designed the app and told The Information he did it during his spare time as engineering director at Airbnb in the hope of having a “positive impact on the election” by allowing people to check whether they or other people they know in - had their votes counted.

Presler was the main coordinator of 🚩ACT’s “March Against Sharia” rallies in June 2017. The nationwide events attracted  various 🚩factions of the radical right, including white nationalists, neo-Nazis and antigovernment extremists — all of whom were united by anti-Muslim animus.

🚩Presler’s speaking engagement appears to represent a burgeoning relationship with TPUSA, a group that has had its own controversies regarding racists in its ranks. Charlie Kirk, TPUSA’s founder and president, spoke at ACT’s national conference held Sept. 4-5. Following Kirk’s speech, Gabriel spoke of a growing partnership between the two groups.

In October 1999, at David’s behest, ANSER created the Institute for Homeland Security (ANSER-IHS). Though fully funded and established at that time, but for reasons still unclear, the ANSER-IHS was not formally launched until April 2001.

The Institute’s first director was Randall Larsen, who was at that time—and still is today—a close associate of current HHS ASPR Robert Kadlec. Lab-created bird flu virus accident shows lax oversight of risky 'gain of function' research
The story of how the H5N1 viruses came to be created – and the response to a 2019 safety breach – raises uncomfortable questions about the tremendous trust the world is placing in research labs.

Inside the high-security Influenza Research Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, two experienced scientists were pulling ferrets out of their HEPA-filtered cages on a Monday in December 2019. Another researcher, still in training, was also in the room to watch and learn.

One by one, the animals were put into a biosafety cabinet, where a solution was washed into their nostrils. It’s a procedure used to collect evidence of infection, and this particular experiment involved exposing the animals to a highly controversial lab-engineered strain of H5N1 avian influenza virus.

'Gain of function' research created controversial flu viruses
And yet in late 2011 the world learned that two scientific teams – one in Wisconsin, led by virologist 🚩Yoshihiro Kawaoka, and another in the Netherlands, led by virologist Ron Fouchier – had potentially pushed the virus in that direction. Each of these labs had created H5N1 viruses that had gained the ability to spread through the air between ferrets, the animal model used to study how flu viruses might behave in humans.

The story of how the H5N1 viruses came to be created – and how the University of Wisconsin and the Kawaoka lab would later respond to the 2019 safety breach during the ferret experiment – raises uncomfortable questions about the tremendous trust the world places in these kinds of labs.

When Yoshihiro Kawaoka first came to the United States in the summer of 1983 to work on influenza viruses, the man who became his American mentor, Dr. Robert Webster of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, asked him to help study a bird flu outbreak in Pennsylvania.

Earlier this year before resigning as Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe named Kawaoka, who has an appointment at the University of Tokyo, to an expert panel on COVID-19. He’s kept an exhaustive travel schedule for years and, at 64, shows no interest in slowing down.

Controversial research at UW-Madison to make a deadly flu virus more dangerous, halted by the government in 2014, has been approved to start again.

The work by campus scientist Yoshihiro Kawaoka involves modifying bird flu viruses such as H5N1 so they can spread among ferrets, an animal model for studying the flu in humans.

Kawaoka conducts such studies at University Research Park in a lab classified as biosafety level 3-agriculture, the highest level at UW-Madison and half a notch below the top level anywhere of BSL4. @bn9202
