Happy Pride! Here is a thread of Magic Legends who would be celebrating.
First up is Halana and Alena, a couple who debuted way back in Shadows Over Innistrad.
Note: I’m going with both characters who have explicit confirmation and for whom there is heavy implication. I’ll note who is only heavily implied versus confirmed.
This is not an exhaustive list, and your headcanon for your fav is not countered by this thread.
This first section are lesbians, or at least women who have exclusively shown interest in other women so far (which includes Hal and Alena above).
Oviya Pashiri is a widower who was married to another woman for a long time.
Errant and Parnesse are a married couple.
Huatli is currently in a relationship with Saheeli Rai.
Nissa Revane is currently in a relationship with Chandra Nalaar.
Adeline was romantically entangled with Chandra during Midnight Hunt and Vow.
Yenna and Syr Armont are Beauty and the Beast analogues and it is heavily implied their story goes the same direction.
Rootha and Felisa are implied to have been in a relationship in the past. Rootha still seems attracted to her in her story.
Moving on to gay men or men we have only seen show interest in other men so far:
Ral Zarek and Tomik Vrona are a married couple.
Kynaios and Tiro, the liberators of Meletis, were lovers who ruled together before ushering in democracy centuries ago.
Vadrik is married to a man named Hailin.
Haktos is in a relationship with a man named Perynes. They are Achilles and Patroclus analogues. It isn’t super clear if they’re contemporary characters.
Next up: the Bi- and Pansexual characters, who have shown interest in multiple genders.
Obviously, at the top of the list is pansexual hot mess, Chandra Nalaar. She’s currently with Nissa, but at one point also had a crush on Gideon before coming to think of him as a brother.
Saheeli Rai is currently in a relationship with Huatli, but she also showed some flirtatious interest in Dack Fayden during the WAR webfiction.
Will Kenrith showed interest in both men and women of their questing party during the Wildered Quest.
Rowan Kenrith also showed interest in both men and women of their group in the novella.
Heiko is currently in a relationship with Chiye, a non-binary Upriser on Kamigawa.
Magic currently has three explicitly transgender characters. The first is Xantcha, who was a sexless/genderless Phyrexian newt who chose to identify as a woman.
She is generally accepted as Magic’s first trans character.
Alesha was a Mardu Khan 1,200 years ago, she took the name of her grandmother as her war name.
The most recent is Yuma, in whose story we learn that Capenna has really good gender affirming care. He came to Thunder Junction to escape his criminal past, but it catches up to him.
On to Non-Binary characters! These are all legends who use They/Them pronouns.
Most famously are the Planeswalkers Ashiok and Niko Aris.
More non-binary legends are Alharu, Hallar, Rocco, and Delney.
And also Myrel, Talion, Nassari, and Tivit are non-binary.
They/Them is normative for the Aetherborn, but I’m including Gonti and Yahenni here as well to round out the current list.
Again, these are just the ones I’ve confirmed. I’ll add to this list as time goes on.
@XabiGazte Oh Xabi I’m a stupid man 🤣🤣🤣
@XabiGazte I went to check with the author and the artist was telling me 🤣🤣🤣
Syr Joshua and Syr Saxon are a gay couple, I missed them (cause Alchemy), but both author and artist confirm it.
Apologies, I meant to update this earlier, I was hesitant* to include Karn, but I want to note that he is, at least word of god from his creator (who happens to be Maro), agender, non-binary. People use He/Him for him and he doesn't care enough to correct them.
*Hesitance came from Karn being (technically) the only non-binary character in Magic for a long time, but one for whom gendered pronouns had always been used. It used to be contentious but given the reaction to this thread and my TikTok it seems opinion has softened.
Also someone pointed out that Yahenni was also aromantic, specifically saying they didn't go for that kind of thing.
Hit me up if I still missed something. It was hard to keep up with all the notifications for this thread.
Note: people have brought up Davriel as possibly asexual. I'll keep a note as a maybe, but it's not the only explanation for him being resistant to Miss Highwater.
Zinnia from the Bloomburrow Commander decks uses they/them pronouns and is heavily implied to not originally be from Bloomburrow (although they are a natural flier and lute player).
Had time to update my spreadsheet with the Legends of Bloomburrow article, so update!
Baylen uses they/them pronouns.
While as a plural legend, The Odd Acorn Gang would be they/them anyway, one of the three, Oregano, is referred to with "their", although because of the plural nature of the cards, "their friends" might mean The Odd Acorn Gang's friends, not Oregano's.
Author Word of God states that Gev and Hugs were written as platonic life partners. I'm not sure exactly where that would fall but feels worth mentioning here.

I'm updating my Legendary Characters info with disabilities. I'll post my current list, and then you let me know who I may have missed.
I'm deliberately keeping my definition of disability broad here, but use some discretion. Visual or textual evidence helps!
Also, I'm not interested in Phyrexians for obvious reasons. And use discretion with undead characters.
I am also not an expert on disabilities (although I have done a lot of work with disabilities in disaster scenarios, that's a very narrow subset).
Tezzeret, Sen Triplets, Silas Renn, and Breya are all Esperites from Alara who have modified their bodies in a transhumanist fashion. These were not prothesis for missing limbs, so I'm wary of calling it disability rep (I'm aware of the intersection), but still worth including.
A bit early, but for (American) Father's Day, here's a thread of MTG Dads!
I'm also including the "Urza Scale" as a rating for each Dad, where a 10 is "neglect your child their whole life and then kill them as collateral damage" and 1 is... unlikely to do that.
Urza
Urza was the father of Harbin (socially at least), but mistrust of parentage led to a lifelong coldness toward his son. Harbin is killed by Urza's Sylex Blast.
Urza Scale: 10
Harbin
Harbin was the father of Jarsyl. He dies when Jarsyl is pretty young so we don't really get to see him in action as a dad.
Here's a #vorthos thread of Magic Legends you may not realize are still alive (or at least, aren't confirmed dead):
1) Axelrod Gunnarson. Axelrod falls into "no additional lore" camp, so there's nothing placing Axelrod on the timeline or even on a plane.
2) Rubinia Soulsinger. She has a short blurb, but nothing tying her to a plane or time, and as a faerie her lifespan isn't the same as a mortal's anyway.
3) Gabriel Angelfire. The subject of the original church of Benalia on Dominaria, back when Serranism was outlawed. Gabriel has never appeared in a story, but also hasn't been confirmed to be killed.
Alright let's talk about some basic facts about Wizards and art. Let me be clear, this is all stuff easily gleaned if you pay attention. I knew all this before I ever invoiced the company. But also they've hired me to write three art books, so I might know a little.
Unfortunately, most of Wizards articles on like, card design (as in, the physical look of a card) have been wiped in their many website migrations. That sucks!
I'll link some good articles on Magic art at the end. Check out @VorthosMike and @DonnyCaltrider for good art stuff.
The following is a collection of some basic facts you should know to understand Magic art and card frame design better.
