If we are honest the Podcast Hosts are the problem. They have failed to offer Podcasters a video podcast option. They have failed to implement the Alternate Enclosure. I screamed about this for 2 years and it fell on deaf ears. And now Spotify and YouTube have said we can't wait for RSS to support video in the same feed so just upload it to us and we will do it for you. Any podcasting app could also do this.

They have no excuse as Apple, Spotify and YouTube all enable video playback. Many creators have two podcasts one for audio and one for video. This is stupid. Have one feed with the Alternate Enclosure.
Several well know podcast host owners have a video podcast on YouTube and then use the audio from it to create their audio podcast. They manually update their YouTube channel and I guess they will now manually update their Spotify channel.
Video podcasting for some is here to stay so we need to support it. And by we I mean hosts. And if not why not? Cost? Just make the option a premium priced feature.
