I'm 44.

If you're still in your 20's, read this:
1. When you turn 40 you'll see a divide between those who took care of their bodies & those who didn't.

2. Getting 8 hours of sleep & taking walks outside will help you more than any health guru on the planet.
3. Sleep is the best legal performance enhancing drug on the planet. You also sleep for 1/3 of your life. Learn how to sleep well.

4. Your parents did the best they could with what they were taught. Sure, they weren't perfect but neither were you. Appreciate them.
5. Food is the most widely abused drug. Exercise is the most underutilized antidepressant.

6. What you measure is what you manage. Want to get better at anything? Track it.

7. "You should be doing X by 30..." Fuck these lists. The only timing that matters is your own. Honor it.
8. As you level up your friends will change. Accept this. It is what it is.

9. At some point it will be the last time you get to hang with a friend. Cherish them.
10. If you hang around someone & feel like your energy was zapped out of your body take that as a signal to not hang around that person anymore.

11. Your diet consists of the food you put into your body, the information you take in & the friends you hang around.
12. If you want better results find better friends. This doesn't mean to get rid of close ones. It does mean to level up the people you hang around.

13. The less you give a fuck about what other people think the more peaceful you'll feel.
14. Your brain is a piece of software. You update it by reading books, crushing challenges, meditation, learning skills & your network.

15. Your body is a piece of hardware. You update it through lifting, cardio, nutrition & stretching.
16. Create a habit of always paying off your credit card. Keeping a balance is the quickest way to get mired in debt.

17. Create a habit of saving at least 10% (or more) of what you earn.

18. Learn how to invest to turn those dollars into more dollars.
19. Spend quality time every day away from your phone. A great life is lived outside. Not on a screen.

20. Learn how to be bored. The ability to do nothing is a superpower in a world of distraction.
21. Write out a vision for your life. Break the vision down into 3 year goals.

Break those down into one year. Break those down into quarterly objectives.

Plan out your monthly projects.

Break those down into weekly & daily tasks.

This is how you make your vision a reality.
22. Train yourself to get the most important task done in the beginning of the day. Eat the frog.

23. Hire mentors sooner. They will get you from point A to point B faster than buying any book or course.
24. Pay whatever money it takes to get in better rooms. Invest in the mastermind. Go to conferences. This is how you build out a network while learning.

25. Self pity & arguing for your excuses are signs of learned helplessness. Avoid at all costs.
26. If you're growing life is supposed to be uncomfortable. Accept this & invite it.

27. The foods you eat affect your gut. Your gut affects your brain. Want a better brain? Eat better foods.
28. The things you want are on the other side of facing your fears.

29. Worrying is wasted energy. No situation was made better by worrying about it.

30. Know the destination & focus on the next steps. Keep taking those steps until you hit your goal then set a new one.
31. Sleep is more important than food.

You can go a week without eating & the only thing you’ll lose is weight.

Give up sleep for a couple of days & you become the worst version of yourself.
32. Get your body to a level where food & pharma companies can't make money off you.

33. Choosing who you will partner with in life will be the most important decision you'll make.

Avoid choosing based on looks alone. They must also fit your personality & values.
34. When you're younger live in the city for network & opportunities. When you're older & have a family live in small towns for peace & tranquility.

35. Life's too short to not live in a place that suits your personality.
36. Choose your habits & vices wisely. They become harder to break when you get older.

37. Cut off energy & happiness vampires. Gotta be ruthless with who you allow in your life.

38. Get married & have kids when you're ready. Not according to someone else's timeline.
39. Live life according to your standards. Not your parents, your friends, or a random person on the internet 😉

40. Don't take anything I said on this thread at face level. Test them out in your life. If they work then great. If not then disregard them.
I have a lot more so I'll leave you one last one:

Dieting can be overcomplicated and a pain in the ass.

Thankfully, I've found a simple diet that almost anyone can do.

It doesn't require you to count calories or measure foods.

It's called the Green Face Diet and it might change your life.

Here's how to do it: Image
What Is The Green Face Diet?

It's a diet that's as bare-bones as it gets, but that's exactly what makes it so effective.

The rules are so simple you could tattoo them on your forearm in 5 minutes:

Rule #1 - If it’s a green vegetable you can eat it.

Rule #2 - If it had a face or would’ve grown up to have a face, you can eat it.

Rule #3 - If it’s not green and has no face, don’t eat it.Image
Who Is This Diet For?

This diet is perfect for anyone starting (or re-starting) their journey to getting back in shape.

Specifically, this is for people who want to get lean, improve their overall health, and want to jump-start their progress.

The country with one of the lowest obesity rates and highest life expectancy is Japan.

4-5% of their population is classified as obese while Western Nations can exceed 30-40%.

Here are 10 crucial reasons why Japan is one of the healthiest countries in the world: Image
1. Their healthcare system

Japan’s healthcare system is proactive emphasizing preventive care.

They focus on holistic health, prevention, and traditional medicine practices like kampo (traditional Japanese medicine).

Their system is also regulated to be affordable & universally accessible.

The private U.S. healthcare system is fraught with insurance companies, high prices, and a significant influence from food and pharma companies.

They spend the most on healthcare while having the lowest life expectancy among large wealthy countries.Image

2. Being at a healthy weight is a social standard

There’s bigger social pressure in Japan to maintain a healthy weight, especially in the workplace.

The government also has a law, the Metabo Law, which requires companies to screen employees for abdominal fat and encourage healthy lifestyle changes.

This focus on collective well-being promotes healthier living habits.Image

The body sends signals that things are wrong and need fixing.

But most guys don't know what to look out for.

Here are 7 health signals to watch out for: Image
1. Unclear eyes

This can be in the range between bloodshot & jaundiced eyes.

Bloodshot eyes could signal irritation, allergies, lack of sleep, reactions, infection & other medical conditions.

Jaundice eyes could be a liver, gallbladder, or pancreas issue.

One time I had to tell a friend that he was drinking so much due to jaundice in his eyes. Cut it down next time I saw him his eyes were clear.
2. Manboobs

No man should ever let their body go full "manboob".

The cause of this is low testosterone & high estrogen.

The main impact this has on men is increased anxiety, low self esteem, self consciousness, low confidence & all the symptoms that come with having low T.

How to get in better shape than 95% of the population (in 4 months or less):
1. Get 80-90% of your calories from single ingredient nutrient dense foods.

2. Avoid processed foods as much as possible because they're addictive, devoid of nutrients & leave you feeling empty.

3. Eating similar meals every day is an underrated way to get lean.
4. Lift weights 2-4x a week. Use progressive overload to build muscle.

5. Progressive overload is simply doing more through reps, weight or frequency,

6. Eat .8 to 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. This helps you build & retain muscle. Eat protein with every meal.

5 exercises to do every morning if you sit at a desk:
As we prepare ourselves for the day, we want to go into a "sympathetic" state.

This is the mode for focus & attention.

One of the best ways to get there is through the body.

Here's a 5 minute morning flow to prep yourself for a great day👇🏼
1. Bar Hangs

One of the most underrated exercises on the planet is hanging from a bar.

This helps with improving posture & shoulder stability while de-compressing the spine.

If you're a beginner, aim for 30 seconds.

If you're intermediate, aim for 1 minute or longer.

The biggest lie they tell you:

You will always have low back pain for the rest of your life.

Here are 6 elite exercises to kill your low back pain (bookmark this):
1. The McGill Crunch

1) Lie on your back with one knee bent and the other leg straight.

2) Place your hands under your lower back for support. Lift your head, neck, and shoulders just slightly off the ground, holding for a few seconds.

3) Don’t pull with your neck—think of curling your rib cage toward your hips & pushing out your abs.

4) Lower back down slowly. Repeat for reps, then switch legs.
2. Bird Dogs

1) Start on all fours with your hands under your shoulders and knees under your hips.

2) Brace your core to keep your back flat.

3) Extend one arm straight forward while kicking the opposite leg straight back, forming a straight line from fingers to toes.

4) Hold for a moment while keeping your hips level and stable.

5) Return to the starting position, then switch sides. The key is controlled movement and avoiding any wobbling.
