Today is day 5 (if you count Friday when he pled the 5th) of Kenneth "Lil Woody" Copeland on the stand for the State. So much has happened in those 5 days. So much outside of actual testimony. About his testimony,
the state has established that #YoungThug and Woody were close. This will lead them to his police interviews where he implicates Thug in Donovan "Nut" Thomas' murder.

Judge Glanville says they have setup a special way for Lil Woody to hear the audio better when he is shown his police interviews. "It's a reasonable accommodation for somebody that has hearing impaired." (I typed that word for word. Judge Glanville is really trying to choose his words carefully lately and his sentences are all over the place.)

Copeland: No

"I gotta call saying that.....I remember getting a call saying I killed Nut.... People were saying am I ok? They saying I killed Nut."

Yesterday, did you tell myself and Miss Love that Lil Dee (Damekion Garlington who Woody refers to as his son) and Shannon (Stillwell) were in the car with you the night of the murder of Donovan Thomas?

Copeland says what he told investigators when Nut got killed was something different because he was "trying to finesse my way out of situation....I made it up to clear myself up."

MOTION FOR MISTRIAL (again) by Brian Steel after Kenneth Copeland was asked if #YoungThug was at the Jan. 11, 2015 police interview with him. Judge sent Copeland and the jury out to hear the motion. (Watch prosecutor Love get very animated as Steel is arguing).

Hylton says that Copeland told police on Jan. 10, 2015 that Lil Dee got into the car and said "they" killed Nut. Copeland then told police that Lil Dee told him that Shannon Stillwell, Deamonte Kendrick and Demise McMullen killed Nut.
Motion for mistrial denied.

When Steel was arguing about the state surrounding Copeland during breaks in the hallway, watch prosecutor Love. She is non-stop talking to prosecutor Hylton who appears to try to ignore her. Love gets so animated that she goes to grab the mic herself to interrupt Steel but Hylton grabs it out of her hand. Watching the two of them during the direct of Woody has been very interesting. While most co-counsels advise/confer, it appears Love doesn't quite trust Hylton with this witness.

Here's an example of what I was ranting about yesterday. Every once in awhile Judge Glanville sustains or overrules the "question". WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?? I assume he means to say the 'objection', but he often says the question. In this example he clearly sustained the defense objection but said he sustained the question. Ok, I know, I need to get over this....

Copeland: I know I ain't complete school but I think I'm speaking proper English..... You keep asking me the same questions over and over and over and I'm tired of it. I'm drained!

Copeland said he's just answering "yes" to move this process along.

4 days into testimony and I'm not sure the jury can believe anything Copeland has said either now or back in 2015 & 2021. The state needs to start showing his conflicting statements from his 6 police interviews.

Well that's a first. No business by any of the attorneys after the jury was dismissed for the day. Court only in session half day tomorrow. Allegedly starting at 12:30pm ET.
