It’s 3am and I still can’t stop thinking about John Ray’s presser about about Heuermann yesterday.

What could he possibly have been thinking when he went up there? How does this help anyone?
I have so many thoughts about what I heard & I need to get them out. Bear with me (or don’t)

Before I rant, this is why we are all here & don’t ever forget that:

1. John Ray had no business professionally, morally or ethically to do this presser imo. However, he has been a staunch advocate for Shannan Gilbert & her family over the years & I had a huge amount of respect for him for that. I have read every single filing in that case for years & his work on it is important.

2. John Ray does not represent ANY of the other women (other than Shannan) connected to LISK. I’ve seen a lot of people say this and it’s incorrect.

3. It would appear that Ray has forgotten how jury trials work & that causing confusion, muddying the water & potentially tainting the jury pool with pure conjecture is NOT helping. Why is he seemingly attempting to give the defense another person to point at & possibly even raise reasonable doubt? Someone make it make sense for me please.

4.She “tore off the cloak of victim hood when she chose to take a handsome profit for herself and for her lawyer from peacock. . .”

He brings up how “he isn’t getting paid” for any of this. Then he tells the press how the color photos in the presser packages were expensive and that they’re on a budget. Then he brings up the $1 mill Peacock streaming deal with Essa Ellerup, their daughter Veronica & (I assume) their son. This just felt weird to me. (Like I said I have a lot of thoughts)

5. His female assistant reading about the furries says at the beginning that they can be “reasonably certain” that the tumblr account is Victoria’s. If you can only be reasonably certain why are you saying any of this at all press conference & why didn’t you tell the Gilgo Task Force & let them have forensics look at her alleged tumblr?

6. He ignores the fact that a vast majority if not all timeframes in which the murders of these women could have occurred, the Heuermann family was not home. This has already been confirmed by LE through phone records. He also conveniently forgets that there is a son who requires special care too. Where was he?

7. Victoria Heuermann was born in 1997. She is currently 27 years old. If what Ray is implying were true, she was not even born at the time of the first (known) murder & she was 13 at the time of the most recent (known) murder.

8. Rather than inferring that she was involved in or helped hide the heinous acts of her father (allegedly for legal reasons) , why not consider what it was like growing up in that home? “If” this ogre tortured & murdered all these women, what do you think the odds are that his sadistic sexual abuse may have been directed at his own daughter? I’ve seen ONE other person even consider this.

9. Did anyone else find it beyond comprehension when he tried to claim the shoe missing in both images somehow equated to a fetish passed on from Rex Heuermann to his daughter? Again I implore you to let the BAU professionals do their jobs.

10. From what I saw, a lot of the images on Victoria Heuermann’s tumblr are NOT the way John Ray described them publicly. There is a lot of animated work and animated animals. She also has a degree in animation so that makes sense. These posts used as images at the presser are NOT from Veronica’s account. They were from accounts she was following. Except of course the one with the furry butt plug. Of course it had to be that one.

11. To be abundantly clear: I was sickened by the images we saw today. Do I think it’s normal for anyone to have that type of interest in sex and death? No I think it’s fucked and I wouldn’t want to be alone with that person. I’d think they needed serious help.

12. He held up a huge photo from a scene from Hannibal (the show). I don’t think he had any idea.

13. There is no consideration that Rex Heuermann may have been using his daughter’s accounts to look at these posts and like them. The man clearly had an affinity for electronic devices. He had hundreds of them and never let them go.

14. This ATTORNEY really got on a mic implying that Victoria
worked with her father to kill women, and that they are a family of cannibals amongst many many other things. In my humble opinion, he better hope he can prove this because there are plenty of defamation lawyers in New York that would love to take that case.

15. I also found it interesting that he said he doesn’t plan to go after Victoria Heuermann or Asa Ellerup or even sue them. So I am just genuinely confused what the point of this was. The task force has done an excellent job. What makes you think they didn’t take this information seriously prior to clearing the family?

I am ALWAYS open to having my mind changed or proven wrong so feel free to correct me on anything or add your own thoughts.
