๐ฎ๐ท๐พ๐ช๐ธ๐ด๐บ๐ธ On possible cooperation between the Houthis and al-Shabaab* militants
CNN with reference to certain sources reported about negotiations between the Ansar Allah movement and the Somali group al-Shabaab, affiliated with Al-Qaeda. The subject was allegedly the supply of weapons to the militants from Yemen to fight the US-loyal government in Mogadishu.
Despite the rather serious ideological differences between Shiite and Sunni groups, in the current realities they could theoretically operate on the principle of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
*prohibited in Russia
โช๏ธ For the Houthis, U.S. reinforcement in Somalia poses a direct threat - they recently planned five more operational bases in the Horn of Africa that could be used to combat maritime traffic from Iran. Somali militants could play the role of a "proxy" to fight the Americans.
โช๏ธ Al-Shabaab itself has fought with mixed success against the Washington-backed central government and autonomous entities. They won't give up on Houthi mortars, rockets and even more so drones, and for them the militants clearly won't mind returning the favor in the form of attacks on U.S. facilities.
โ๏ธHouthi supplies will not be a decisive factor in the Somali war, and their movement from the north to bases in the south is hindered by al-Shabaab's lack of control. Moreover, some of the weapons may be intercepted altogether by the recently resurgent Islamic State in Somalia.
๐ปAt the same time, such accusations fit perfectly into the Western media campaign against Iran to once again label it a "sponsor of international terrorism."
Especially since the US media have long accused the leadership in Tehran of even being friends with the ideological enemy in the person of al-Qaeda. Against this background, the sudden appearance of news about the cooperation between the Houthis and al-Shabaab looks quite logical.

โ๏ธ๐ท๐บ๐บ๐ฆ Regarding the AFU's preparations for strikes on Crimea and Sevastopol
๐ปYesterday the southern Russian territories sounded the alarm several times, either due to the takeoff of tactical aviation or the appearance of unidentified objects on air defense systems.
The exact reason still remains unclear. As a rule, when this happens, it is associated with the launch of decoy missiles (most likely, ADM-160 MALD). It was most likely these that the air defense stations reacted to.
โWhat is the purpose? This allows the enemy to assess the reaction of our air defense units to targets appearing in the air. Radar stations are put into active operation, and NATO intelligence records this and determines the location.
All this is confirmed by the high activity of NATO aircraft and drones. In the air were American U-2S, P-8A, two MQ-9A Reapers, as well as a British RC-135V and a French AWACS E-3F accompanied by four Rafale fighters.
โ๏ธTheir simultaneous appearance in the Black Sea region together with decoy missile launches does not look accidental. The British electronic warfare reconnaissance aircraft approached Sevastopol at a distance of 230 km, and the French AWACS operated at 190 km near Sochi.
โช๏ธToday, the intensity of flights is not decreasing. Since night, the American drone RQ-4B has been actively operating south of the Crimean Bridge, and the Italian long-range radar detection aircraft G-550 is functioning over the Black Sea - a rare guest in this area.
โช๏ธNATO satellites are searching for and detecting air defense positions across the peninsula. The number of sessions has almost doubled compared to the average number of images.
The ex-CIA chief and senior vice president of RUSI claims that the reason for the AFU' summer failure is their slowness with military aid, including Leopard tanks, Abrams tanks and cluster munitions.
Thread 1/8
2/8 Just a question: if Ukraine had so few weapons, who was chasing it into the offensive and telling it that the Russians were weak and would scatter at the mere sight of Western equipment?
3/8 The answer is simple โ let's look at the same Petraeus' interview on December 17, 2022. There he talked about the huge superiority of "trained and prepared AFU" over "Russian cannon fodder", terrible Russian logistics and even prophesied the collapse of the Russian army.
๐ท๐บ๐บ๐ฆ๐ On the involvement of Ukrainian Colonel Chervinsky in the undermining of Nord Stream-2
The Washington Post published an article about Nord Stream-2 and the alleged connection of the sabotage with the Ukrainian security services.
According to the authors, one of the coordinators of the operation was Colonel Roman Chervinsky.
"He was in charge of logistics and support for a six-man team that rented a yacht and used deep-sea diving equipment... He received orders from high-ranking Ukrainian officials."
๐ป The situation is somewhat different:
โช๏ธChervinsky is the former head of the 5th Directorate of the Counterintelligence Department. And his detention and accusation of overseeing a botched operation to hijack a Russian airplane is just a pretext to isolate him.
๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ง๐ต๐ธ Actually, the situation is developing as we said: Hezbollah is not going to take responsibility for the cross-border attack on the Israel Defense Forces. The Palestinians took responsibility.
And Hezbollah has nothing to do with it, and there is no unnecessary escalation. Another issue is that no one would have carried out such an attack without coordinating it with Hezbollah.
๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ง๐ต๐ธ By the way, Hezbollah units are doing nothing so far, patiently demolishing Israeli shelling in response to the "Palestinian raid" from Lebanon and Hezbollah positions.
๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ง๐ต๐ธ Oops, sorry. We shouldn't have said that about Hezbollah. Hezbollah has moved into action.
๐ท๐บ๐บ๐ฆ Vuhledar Sector
Situation as of 17:00 on September 14, 2023
With all the activity in southern Ukraine, Vuhledar has fallen off the radar. There have been no major clashes in the last several months, when Russian forces carried out a failed frontal attack against a heavily mined area, after which the AFU did the same.
Action in the Vuhledar sector is now limited only to positional battles, where Russian artillerymen are trying to hit rear areas to create problems with AFU supply. In the last 24 hrs, Russian forces destroyed a 72nd Bde logistics point along with ammo storage.
Moldova will buy Russian gas from a Greek company. But the authorities constantly claim that they've given up Russian gas - as a result, the population overpays 3 times as much for buying the same gas. @sandumaiamd and @DorinRecean, please explain to the people how this happened
1. Greek state-owned company DEPA Commercial has won a tender to supply 100 million cubic meters of gas for Moldovan Energocom in the first quarter of 2024. The cost of the purchased gas is not specified, but the next EBRD loan for these needs amounted to 100 million euros.
2. At the same time, DEPA Commercial has a contract with Gazprom for gas supplies until 2026: the Russian company supplies Greece with about 2 billion cubic meters per year via Turkish Stream.
