This is disgraceful. They've completely wiped the MTV News archive. Decades of pop culture history research material gone, and why?
older articles don't even turn up on the Wayback machine. Just a total wipe-out. Really despicable.
That archive also - through the sole efforts of @JasonHirschhorn - contained most of the archive of the groundbreaking late ‘90s music-news outlet SonicNet. Gone now, too.
A relevant podcast I recorded last year, featuring Kurt Loder, John Norris, and Tabitha Soren

A new contender for dumbest tweet ever. Yes, why aren’t those one-off mags about Stranger Things and Christmas cookies - produced months ago - covering this story? Not to mention Guitar Player magazine. Who could possibly solve this mystery?
It only gets funnier the closer you look at the rack. Why isn’t Air Fryer Recipes covering the Twitter takeover? How about Golf Magazine?
Actually both Guitar Player and Guitar World are visible. Why aren’t they covering this???

With the Neil Young situation it’s been fascinating to see the people who literally don’t understand the concept of a principled stand. They’ve never seen one before. “Spotify was never gonna choose him over Joe Rogan! What a deluded old fool!”
The idea of giving up even one penny on principle is alien to all of us here in 2022
This is the guy who could’ve had a lucrative career as a soft-rock hitmaker and threw it away deliberately after Harvest; another move that’s hard to translate these days
