🧵It's time to move on from Berhalter. This team has regressed since '22.
But we have to talk about the players, too. I think expectations are inflated because of the clubs they play for, but besides Pulisic and Robinson, none of the core USMNTers are core pieces of their clubs.
The term "golden generation" gets tossed around a lot, and that's total B.S. This isn't a golden generation. It's a mostly bunch of very talented kids who are towards the start of their career playing rotational roles for big clubs where none of them have to be 𝑡ℎ𝑒 guy.
We can't talk about the ceiling of these players and excuse consistently meh performances. At this point in global soccer, it's not enough to have guys who sometimes start for Juventus or Dortmund or Nottingham Forest or wherever. All the teams we want to compete with have those.
Things looked promising in '22, and I thought that trend would continue. It hasn't. Time for new leadership.
But this group of players hasn't lived up to expectations, often with their clubs and certainly not with the national team. Results won't improve until that changes.

#NashvilleSC GM Mike Jacobs on the signing of Matt LaGrassa, Taylor Washington, Alan Winn and Ken Tribbett.
THREAD/
Its a great day, not only for the 4 players, but for the fans of the USL team. To see these guys go through the last 2 years (1 year) and perform the things they could do, to prove they should be included in the project. Proud of how they’ve played and conducted themselves also.
On MLS experience: "It’s relevant in some regards. It comes down to the role they’re being asked to do. Ken’s experience in MLS made him someone they wanted to get last year to put under a microscope. It was very clear when he was healthy that he should be included."
