RE: Open Letter to the @HouseDemocrats and @SenateDems @DemGovs

CC: @RepJeffries @SpeakerPelosi @SenSchumer @RepRaskin @JasmineForUS @AOC @RepAdamSchiff

We need to chat. These conversations are never easy, but tonight I heard @RepRaskin on a cable news show. Normally I'm a big supporter of @RepRaskin, but tonight he made me uncomfortable. What made me uncomfortable was that he said "we" have to have a conversation.

Plainly, the Judicial & Legislative Branches have lost their way. The only thing working for us, the Americans, is the Executive Branch (@potus and @vp).

I won't waste time on SCOTUS. That should be obvious. I won't waste time on the GOP members of Congress. Same problem.

Instead, I need to talk about you, @TheDemocrats.

I think House Dems are under the false impression that your performance has been stellar. It hasn't. You pass no legislation. You fix no problems. You can't keep the Government functioning. @POTUS did that. You saved the butt of a guy who thinks God said he'd be the next Moses. That requires some sincere explanation.

I think Senate Dems think their performance has been stellar. Even with a majority, you have accomplished nothing. You're approving judges. It doesn't seem taxing. You lost members (they became independents). Your subpoena power seems to be broken and your letters are piling up on the steps outside SCOTUS' building.

But tonight from @RepRaskin, I heard how "we" were going to have a conversation. So in the midst of my continuous tweeting today I thought I missed something. So I looked at my email and I checked my voicemail. I haven't received a zoom invite and there were no messages from you. I am left to assume me and my fellow voters are not part of the "we" he was referring to. I had a sick feeling. It's that feeling that necessitated this frank intervention.

There are very few things I can do that have any impact. I can't email all of you. I can only email my reps and senators. When we call, your staff wants to know if we are in your district. If it's not yours, you don't care.

On reflection tonight, after my hit on @fox5dc, I realized there are only two truly impactful things I can do. 1) I can vote in primaries. 2) As to general elections, I can vote for reps, senators, and governors. In the general election, my vote for @POTUS isn't a direct vote. It is filtered through an electoral college. But in the primary, my vote matters. I argue, it matters more.

This year, living in CA, I voted for Biden and Schiff. Both made it to the general. Biden has done extraordinary work. His list of accomplishments is long and much of it was done outside of the Legislative Branch. He stood up for all of us. He was the 1st POTUS to walk a union picket line. He stopped Iran and Israel from blowing the world to bits. While you dicked around with the GOP, he found other ways to get aid to Ukraine (giving to Greece to give to Ukraine). He found other ways to give student debt relief. He used his executive authority to protect women and many other accomplishments that couldn't be done because of you.

He did all of that because he knows how. It's taken him decades to learn the intricacies of the government. When he started his term, the government was in shambles. So, unlike @obama, he walked into an Executive Branch that was ransacked. In fact, it was ransacked with government property that had to be retrieved by the FBI. This was after a shocking attack happened on The People's House that jeopardized him being President at all. In addition to the government being in shambles, the country was in shambles. But he got us back on track. He got people back to school and work. He did a lot before he could even get to his primary agenda. Then he worked in earnest there. This year he traveled back and forth to a war zone in 24 hours. In May he was interviewed by Howard Stern (that made NYT big mad). He traveled to France and properly honored those who died for freedom.
He gave multiple public speeches and he sat for an interview with David Muir of ABC News not 4 weeks ago on June 6. He did all of that while his son was on trial.

He participated in a debate on June 27. He had a bad night. He wasn't feeling well. He did the best he could.

I remember when Sen. @JohnFetterman debated after a stroke and you rallied. I remember when @RepRaskin had cancer. Certainly he wasn't feeling well. You rallied.

@POTUS IS the President. He is doing more than you are. He is doing the job. To suggest he can't be the person to beat Trump is outrageous and not based in reality.

Each day all I see is you fighting for nothing. I see name calling and posturing for the camera. You are not accomplishing anything that matters to us. He gets blamed for that. Frankly he should put his foot up your fannies.

Now, I hear "we" are having a meeting, but we the voters are left out.

At the primary, we the voters drove, walked, took buses to the polls to vote. In some instances that resulted in huge wins to fix problems in states because you haven't done your jobs to protect or restore our rights.

I don't know what you are meeting about, what it is you think you'll be deciding, but we the voters had our respective meetings and we decided that Biden would represent us in the general election.

You are not our parents. You have no authority over us. You make laws. That's your job. We send you there to do that. We do not send you to office to set aside our primary votes. He'll and fury should descend on you if you try.

You House Dems are up for election. You have an interest in winning so you can retain your power and get the things and information that you benefit from in your roles. As of late surely none of you could be genuinely happy with your job since you are doing nothing that isn't performance. However, Biden has accomplished so much without your help that he's given you things to run on that he doesn't mind you taking credit for; he wants to help you.

The way you seem to be repaying him, and us who sent you there, is keeping us all on edge over whether our vote for him will matter.

You've lost your way. Before you go pointing fingers at anyone, you need to look in the mirror and reckon with your own ethics and morality. You are treating the leader of your party, of my party, the guy who has busted his ass every day for this country, like something you think you can choose to discard.

You are wrong. January 6th, Donald Trump tried to steal an election. You will not, based on your own personal interests and by supplanting my judgment and my fellow voters judgment for yours, steal an election from within thinking you know better.

You do not know better. You won an election. It wasn't anywhere near the type of fight @Potus won. They don't compare. That's it. That's the only reason why you are where you are and you are there because we put you there. We can just as easily end your tenure in office with a vote.

No man is above the law and no person gets more than one vote. You got to vote, too. We all chose @POTUS. He chose @VP as his running mate. There are no mulligans.

You have accomplished little; he accomplished a lot. He flubbed a debate. So did Reagan, Bush, Gore, Obama, and even Trump. So did Fetterman. You know debating is not the job. It represents the equivalent of a beauty pageant.

Much of what you fault @POTUS for would be protected under federal and state laws if he were me. He had a stutter (disability) and wasn't permitted to accommodate it with his note cards. Then, a cold. He had lots of travel, his son's trial, over preparedness, weird rules, no fact-checking, and a lunatic lying about his accomplishments at a rate of too many per second. None of you could knock that out of the park. In fact I know some of you wouldn't have kept your composure. Some of you might have been in handcuffs. None of you have ever had to debate that Felon.
@POTUS is the most empathetic President we've had. It's his strength. It is your weakness. We need his empathy, diplomacy, experience, and more. He acts when you don't. He has supported you. The least you can do is support him. You didn't choose him alone. The voters chose him. In fact, he received more votes than any President in history. We outnumber you.

Rather than think you have the right to void my vote and the votes of every American who voted this Primary season, who also came out for your sorry selves, you need to examine your naked self and see yourselves for your imperfectness and accept that being imperfect is a fact of life.

Experience comes with age. @potus has been transparent with his health as noted on his physicals available publicly; we all have bad days, that one bad day doesn't make you a bad candidate, and that your modus operandi of fighting and jockeying for power has no place here. You are part of the problem.

Your job is to respect our vote, get behind him, and fight like hell with your voters.

If you are giving up on @POTUS , there's very little incentive for the voters to not give up. If our vote means nothing now, then how is that different from what Trump will do? And why should we support you or trust you again. For many of my fellow voters, they want term limits on you. You arrive in the Capitol and park yourselves there, many until you die, lose, or fear losing.

A vote. It's so basic. You told us it matters. Were you lying?

In closing, I'm tired of your behavior and your attitudes. The only conversation you should be having is how will you work with us to get Biden and Harris re-elected in four months time. The conversation is not how do you replace the person who's doing all the work you can't figure out a way to do.

FDR was in a wheel chair. We had to amend the Constitution because of him. He'd never get elected today.

Stop behaving like scared little children when you have an army of voters who want to fight for our President. The reason why Democrats lose is because you allow the perfect to be the enemy of the good, call yourselves the Big Tent party, but are really ageist, ableist opportunists, and you scare too easy. You've never been able to play the game in a way that the GOP does. It's time you try.

Get in the game or get out of the way. We're fighting for Biden. You aren't our priority, unless you stop acting like brats.

Sincerely,

Dr. Tracy A. Pearson

Pondering the fate of Democracy, I thought it was worth my time to share my thoughts as follows. If you don't care or disagree, scroll on.

In 2019, there were a lot of Ds running for the nomination, @POTUS entered late. You complained, but you voted for him.

Fact.

You voted for him. He had the most votes in the history of national elections.

He helped stem COVID deaths; turned the economy around (wages are surpassing inflation; lowest unemployment); passed historic gun legislation; passed an infrastructure bill; has and continues to provide student debt relief; more people have health insurance; reduced the cost of insulin, capping it at $35; reversed discriminatory bans in the military; issued pardons for marijuana based offenses and is recategorizing marijuana under federal schedules (meaning it will open research pathways); in the wake of Dobbs issued executive orders to help provide reproductive care until we can secure a House/Senate majority; he tackled the climate by putting us back into the Paris Agreement, committed to cut total greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% by 2030; released an updated Methane Action Plan, which includes 50 specific measures; made significant investment in wildfire risk reduction and ecosystem restoration to protect and promote natural carbon removal; passed a $2,000 tax credit for new heat pumps, a 30% tax credit for residential solar systems and batteries, and $9 billion to support state energy efficiency and electrification rebates, and more; he provided Aide to Ukraine and got damn creative with it while Congress dicked around, sending it to other countries to send to Ukraine; US approved F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, and more

He did all of that while the GOP had cat fights in the House and went on fruitless missions to try to impeach him because Trump was impeached (remembering that Biden wasn't in office when that happened 2x).
You don't like @POTUS bc he's old, eh?

1) I'll save the lecture on age discrimination.
2) Too bad. He was old 4 years ago when you voted last time. Guess what? You are 4 years older, too. (I know you don't like thinking about it.)

You're mad at him for not unilaterally changing US policy on Israel, a policy that has existed for some over 75 years, eh?

Too bad.

@BarackObama failed to stop Israeli settlements. He provided over 26 Billion to Israel in military aid.

You still voted for him.

Obama signed a bill in 2012 that provided for Enhanced Security Cooperation.

During 2008 to 2014 (Obama Administration) Israel and Gaza had 3 wars.

You cried over Obama's leaving office. Remember that? Remember how you wanted him back?

So weapons. Weapons suck generally. But we legally can't cut off Israel. If Congress appropriates funds the President has to spend it. Fact.

Interestingly, we've paused sending certain weapons. Those weapons were appropriated in 2021. Before the current crisis.

Other weapons we have sent include the kinds used with tanks - Israel is focused on bombs, and inaccurate ones. We also sent guidance kits to make bombs accurate. Israel for their part doesn't use the guidance systems that attach to the weapons we send.obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/the-press-offi…

So, you think Biden's too old. F--- O-- You're 4 years older too. You aren't President. You'll never be President. You think you can do things others don't. You prove them wrong. So will he. Never bet against Biden. He won the nomination last time, in a crowded field and in the face of people saying he's too old.

So, Israel, huh?
Biden doesn't tell us everything. You have no idea what's happening behind the scenes. In 2021, Biden was able to stop Netanyahu's attack on Gaza.

However, it's an election year, here. The GOP plays a good ground game and they have worked to divide Democrats. We're gullible because we aren't a--h----, most of us, anyway. We disagree, but we aren't cruel.

The GOP wants Trump.
Netanyahu wants Trump who will help him destroy every Palestinian. You haven't seen helping to destroy Palestinians, even though you think you have. Netanyahu is facing corruption charges and as long as he stays in office he stays out of jail. This war is how he stays in office. Netanyahu propped up Hamas with suitcases of cash. He stood up in front of the UN in September of 2023 with a map that didn't include Gaza or WB. He called it the New Middle East. Google it.

Netanyahu is a sick bastard. But he's not our sick bastard. We can surely agree on this fact.

Be angry with him. Really angry. His people are. They are protesting in the streets.
