Planning is perhaps the single most significant part of having a beautiful livable city. Something which we lack entirely. Some cultures excel in extensive planning of their cities. Beside Barcelona, Italy's Sicily and Argentina's La Plata, are the other incredible ones.

Visible grid infrastructure, greenery inside it, spacious roads, river-canals through the city, aesthetic buildings, bridges, separate pathways & bicycle ways, no encroachment and exceptional hygiene; these are all the trademarks of Advance Cities. We lack most, if not all of it.

Meet William Hodges (1744-1797), an English painter who brought the mesmerizing landscapes and rich culture of 18th-century India to the eyes of Europe. William Hodges by George Dance the Younger
In 1772, Hodges embarked on a voyage to India with the East India Company. His mission: to capture the grandeur and diversity of India's landscapes and architecture. His journey produced some of the earliest visual records of India by a European artist Ayodhya seen from the river Ghaghara, Uttar Pradesh. Coloured etching, 1785.
Hodges' fascination with Indian architecture is evident in his works. He painted the Taj Mahal, Jaipur's palaces, and Varanasi's ghats, highlighting their majestic beauty and intricate details. These paintings introduced European audiences to the splendor of Indian design.
