Today marks the launch of Avail DA, the first modular data availability layer using validity proofs + data availability sampling. Now, build blockchains that truly scale with demand.
The AVAIL token powers the network—pay fees, stake to secure, and more.
The Unification Layer for Web3 starts with Avail DA. Massive thanks to our community for helping us kickoff a unified web3 saga. 🌐
Avail DA introduces the first modular data availability layer that combines validity proofs and data availability sampling enabling entire networks of blockchains to scale.
Avail DA enables:
• L2 solutions to reduce operational costs and enhance scalability by implementing Validiums, Optimiums or Sovereign Rollups.
• RaaS providers to build with a robust, validity proof based DA layer that’s optimized for ZK tech.
• Blockchain devs to access scalable blockspace for their modular tech stack.
• The token is live, and token holders can stake their AVAIL on .staking.avail.tools
Story so far: In late 2020, @anuragarjun teamed up with @prabalbanerjee to build digital, trust-minimized systems that help increase trust in our modern society.
They honed in on the crucial importance of a credibly neutral data availability (DA) layer that would empower blockchains to scale more efficiently - and build the foundation for a unification layer to solve fragmentation across web3.
Avail has captured the interests of the industry’s leading investors including Peter Thiel’s @FoundersFund, @Dragonfly_xyz, @cyberFund_, and many more.
We’ve been working closely with 110+ partners including @arbitrum, @Optimism, @0xpolygon, @StarkWareLtd, and @zksync prior to launch, with many more on the way.
Developers can leverage any of Ethereum's top rollup stacks like Arbitrum Orbit, Optimism OP Stack, Polygon CDK, or explore beyond the EVM to build blockchains on Avail DA.
Our chain-agnostic solution supports any execution environment, enabling inscriptions, sovereign rollups, and more.
The Avail network can support up to 1000 validators and uses an NPoS consensus mechanism, which provides more equitable reward distributions to validators and decentralization to the network.
Avail is starting with a genesis set of validators and will be rolling out in phases to support all 1000.
Utilizing the power of Avail DA, Avail is building a permissionless unification layer for web3. This unification layer will not only help any blockchain scale on Avail DA, but will simplify cross-chain transactions with Avail Nexus, and provide comprehensive shared security via Avail Fusion.
Avail DA is the first step towards a unified future for web3.
