π» Ghostreader v2
Reader's AI is now:
* Way easier to access (two taps on mobile!)
* Way more powerful & accurate
* You're able to write/customize your own prompts, to then use later while reading!
More complex AI actions are now built into Reader:
* "Pick up where you left off" to get a quick recap of your last reading session
* A powerful "X Ray" prompt that explains exactly how a term (or character, or place) is defined by the author
* Many more!
Most importantly, you can even now customize or WRITE YOUR OWN Ghostreader prompts!
At Readwise we think a lot about products with low floors & high ceilings: this feature has a limitlessly high ceiling.
The desktop RSS folders we announced in our last update are now available on mobile, along with a fresh mobile sidebar for the Library!
All of your content should just be easier to access on mobile now, and the menus less cluttered!
π‘ Upgraded Highlighting
You can now RESIZE HIGHLIGHTS! This is probably the biggest improvement to highlighting in years, and one of our most requested features ποΈ
Beyond that:
* Punctuation is now auto-captured when highlighting
* Cross-page highlighting is much smoother
π Ebook Upgrades
We've turned our attention to taking the ebook reading experience to the next level.
Namely, EPUBs will now be formatted much better, preserving the original stylings that the author/publisher originally set :)
(+ many other small book reading improvements!)
π¦ Minor improvements
Reader continues to improve in the small ways as well as the big:
π΅ Better Text to Speech voices (in beta)
β‘ Documents now open faster
π¨ Much smoother animations on iOS/Android
π Feed folders should filter docs more logically
(and more! see images)

1/ Why Note-taking Apps Donβt Make Us Smarter

Let's get into it π
This is the twitter version of our latest beta update, which you should have received an email about if you're using Reader.
You can view the web version (with all instructions and details on how to use new stuff) here π
It's critical to us that everyone can export their data out of Reader if desired. You can now export:
* A CSV file of all of your saved links
* An OPML file of all of your feeds
* All of your uploaded files
* Your highlights, on a doc level or all at once
Lots new in Reader this week -- if you're in the private beta you should have received our 21st update email. Just in case, here's the tl;dr π
NEW HOME SCREEN ON WEB
powerful, customizable, and (hopefully) beautiful :)
VIEW MANAGEMENT PAGES
One of our most useful/customizable features is filtered views. Finally, we have a page where those can all be be browsed, queried, edited :)
IN-APP LINK SAVING (WEB)
You can now save links to Reader whilst reading on web, just like you've been able to on mobile.
Of course, also doable via keyboard shortcuts, so you can continue to read without using your mouse π
