HUGE response for Kamala Harris as she takes the stage in Atlanta. Listen to this!
move over, Kid Rock
Kamala Harris in Georgia: "The path to the White House runs right through this state. And you all helped us win in 2020 and we're gonna do it again in 2024."
Harris: "I took on perpetrators of all kinds ... so hear me when I say I know Donald Trump's type."
Harris: "I went after transnational gangs, drug cartels, & human traffickers that came into our country illegally. I prosecuted them in case after case & won. Trump on the other hand has been talking a big game...as my friend Quavo would say, he does not walk it like he talks it"
Kamala Harris: "As president I will bring back the border security bill that Donald Trump killed and I will sign it into law and show Donald Trump what real leadership looks like."
Kamala Harris: "By many indicators our economy is the strongest in the world. But while inflation is down and wages are up, prices are still too high. You know it and I know it ... on day one i will take on price gouging and bring down costs."
Harris talks about Project 2025 and says, "we are not going back!" The crowd responds with big "We're not going back!" chants.
Kamala Harris: "Ours is a fight for the future. And it is a fight for freedom...the freedom of a woman to make decision about her own body & not have the government tell her what to do...generations of Americans before us led the fight for freedom. Now the baton is in our hands"
Harris: "We are the underdogs in this race. We are. But you see, this is a people-powered campaign. In fact, after I announced my candidacy, we saw the best week of grassroots fundraising in presidential history. So the momentum of this race is shifting."
Harris criticizes Trump for pulling out of the debate with her, then adds, "but he and his running mate seem to have a lot to say about me. And by the way, don't you find some of that stuff to be just plain weird? ... if you got something to say, say it to my face."
Harris wraps up her speech in Atlanta on a rousing note. I can't believe how good the vibes are compared to just a couple weeks ago. Man.

Biden: "What's happening now is not consistent with that doctrine of separation of powers. Extremism is undermining the public's confidence in the Court's decisions ... today I am calling for three bold reforms."
Biden outlines his proposals for codifying that there is no presidential criminal immunity, term limits for SCOTUS justices, and a binding ethics code for SCOTUS
Pete Buttigieg on Fox News Sunday on the New York Times' gripes about Kamala Harris: "The idea that somebody hasn't been tested or vetted when they have been vice president of the United States for nearly four years just doesn't make any sense."
Pete Buttigieg on Fox News Sunday on Trump: "He even broke his promise to that J6 mob when he said, 'I will be at your side when you march down to the Capitol.' But he actually did keep two promises: He kept his promise to destroy the right to choose in this country, and he kept his promise on tax cuts to the rich ... he lies all the time."
Pete Buttigieg on Fox News Sunday on Biden: "Unlike Republicans who in Trump's personality cult will take a look at Donald Trump and say he's perfectly fine even though he seemed unable to tell the difference between Haley and Pelosi, even though he's rambling about electrocuting sharks and Hannibal Lecter ... we don't have that kind of warped reality on our side."

Trump on how getting shot at affected him: "Maybe I've gotten worse, actually."
I am going to put together a thread covering President Biden's torch-passing Oval Office address. Follow along for clips.
Biden from the Oval Office: "I revere this office, but I love this country more. It has been the honor of my life to serve as your president ... but this sacred task of perfecting our union, it's not me ... it's about we the people ... we are a great nation bc we are good people"
Biden: "We you elected me to this office, I promised to always level with you, to tell you the truth ... I believe my record as president merited a second term ... but nothing can come in the way of saving our democracy ... I've decided the best way forward is to pass the torch."
Harris begins with comments on Biden: "Joe's record of accomplishment over his entire career and over the past 3.5 years is unmatched in modern history. In one term as president he has already surpassed the legacy of most presidents who served two terms."
HARRIS: "So Wisconsin, I am told as of this morning that we have earned the support of enough delegates to secure the Democratic nomination."
