A thread of a few interesting things I’ve noticed about the F-16’s during Ukraine’s unveiling of their newly received jets during Ukraines Airforce Day
During the F-16’s performing a flyby we can clearly see these are former Royal Danish Air Force jets.
These aircraft feature a searchlight, which both RDAF and RNoAF aircraft have, but not the drag chute in the tail. RNoAF does have drag have chutes, so these are ex-RDAF jets.
The jets on the ground have the same IFF antennae as those found on the F-16ADF, the AN/APX-109 (circled red). The ADF also has a bulge in the tail, covered by the camouflage netting on the Ukrainian jet (green). This aircraft also features the pre-MLU upgrade landing lights.
None of the Dutch, Belgian, Danish or Norwegian aircraft have the ADF-style antenna, which means they must have been supplied by America, Jordan, Portugal or Thailand.
As I said the Ukrainian F-16 with ADF antennae has the old landing light, present on every pre-MLU upgrade F-16. The presence of the normal Bird Slicer antennae on the ex-RDAF F-16A’s indicate they were upgraded with the MLU upgrade, which added them, and thus these are F-16AM’s.
